BLISS_2017
SRIMCA Student Shines in NCAT-2017 National Level Competition, 16th June, 2017
International Forum for Excellence in Higher Education(IFEHE) organizes National Creative and Aptitude Test (NCAT) national level competition every year, the NCAT is designed to sensitize the students to the domain of creative thinking and motivate them to read, learn and practice the same. The primary objectives of this test are one, to sensitize the student and two, to appeal to his /her competitive spirit to make him/her an achiever.
Total 176 institutes across the nation has participated in the competition. The competition consisted of two rounds tests. Total 107 students of SRIMCA have participated in NCAT-2017. The first test was conducted at institute level and 4 students were selected for the final round. Two students of MCA 4th semester Ms. Sweety Patel has secured 2nd rank and Mr. Haresh Yadav has secured 7th rank across the nation. Our students have obtained commendable results among 176 institutes from all over the nation. Ms. Sweety Patel has received prize money of 15000 Rs. with 2nd rank from IFEHE.
Students of SRIMCA have made a name for themselves in various fields and in turn have earned praise and recognition for SRIMCA. Right from the beginning, we have believed in going beyond the conventional definition of the education by encouraging activities that enhance learning process.
We are proud of our students for their achievements in NCAT-2017. The success that we receive through each of our student's achievements are indeed an inspiration for our new comers, the aspiring creatives and an encouragement for us to teach our students more effectively and innovatively.

Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management and Computer Application, UTU Annual Day "BLISS 2017" celebrated on 1st April 2017.
The Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management and Computer Application celebrated its magnificent and reverberating Annual Day entitled as "BLISS 2017" on 1st April 2017. The theme was befitted with the thought to express Blessed Loved Inspired at Splendid Srimca.
The celebrations were initiated with the UTU song with feeling of inspiration and togetherness. The event was graced with the presence of our Hon. Provost Dr.D. R. Shah, Shri BhaguBhai Patel (President, BPKM) and other dignitaries, whom first of all was given the floral welcome. Then they were invited to the stage to light the lamp of knowledge.
Event Co-ordinator Ms.Bhumika Desai expressed the thought that has been initiated the annual function with the theme of "DIGITAL INDIA", a documentary prepared by S.Y.M.C.A students has shown the small step of SRIMCAN, towards the Digital India theme which can be taken as an inspiration and way to "One little step towards remodeling INDIA into Digital Society and Data Economy".
After a brief overview of the activities perform in curricular, co-curricular, extra activities and the achievements of the student in different fields like technical competition at other institute and paper presented in renowned journals. All the 1st and 2nd Rank from BCA, 5 Years Integrated MCA and MCA in academic performance were awarded to the meritorious students for their commendable performances during the academic year 2015-16.
The Best student awarded for the BCA, MCA and 5 Years Integrated MCA according to their overall performances in the curricular, co-curricular, extra activities & achievements. Ms. Kanchan Kumavat was awarded as the BEST Student in BCA programme, Ms. Anvi Jani was awarded as the BEST Student in MCA programme and Ms. Riya Patel was awarded as the BEST Student in 5 Years Integrated MCA programme.
The energetic annual day was celebrated with the performances by exhibiting the student's hidden talent. They need an outlet to showcase their potential and creativity. The students of today are not shy as they are exposed to the environment. However, they need mentoring and proper direction to channelize their potential. The various activities performed on the occasion include solo dance, solo singing, group drama and fashion show. The students anchor different segments of the function with a view to work independently. Mr. Pritesh Patel, TYMCA student has shown a couple of videos as a tribute to all the Final Year students for their farewell and also thanks to all the teaching and non-teaching staff through all the moments of two years that has been captured in one frame.
The audience comprising students, faculties, non-teaching staff etc., enjoyed every segment of the programme with a great fun. Especially students were seen highly jubilant and appreciating the performances of their fellow students by putting their hands together. The event was a huge success for all of us, and it was not possible without the cooperation of each and every faculty member as well as students of SRIMCA.
Expert Session on Android Mobile Application Development Platform, 28th February, 2017
SRIMCA organized expert session of the Android mobile application development platform on 28th February, 2017. The students of MCA 4th semester, Integrated MCA 6th semester and BCA 6th semester took the benefit of the session delivered by Mr. Nilay Ganatra. Mr Nilay Ganatra is an Assistant Professor, CHARUSET, Charotar University and working in the area of Mobile Computing more. The topics which were covered during the session were Android architecture, Activity life cycle, Basic animation, Material design and demonstration. The session was quite interactive, and ended with the question answer session.

Achievers of ALL INDIA ESSAY WRITING EVENT 2016 Organized by Shri Ram Chandra Mission in collaboration with UNITED NATIONS INFORMATION CENTRE FOR INDIA AND BHUTAN and THE HEARTFULNESS INSTITUTE.
Shri Ram Chandra Mission is a non-profit educational and spiritual service organization. The All India Essay Writing Event is the flagship event of the partnership between the United Nations Information centre for India and Bhutan (UNIC) and Shri Ram Chandra Mission (SRCM).
Through this event around 1 Lakhs students tap into their inner space, tune into the soft voice of the heart that never fails to guide and inspire and, express in words their feelings on the topic "The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows".
Ms.Poonam Yadav had co-ordinate this event at Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management and Computer Application, MCA department. Total 11 students registered their essay MCA from UG/PG level for the same.
From more than one lakhs students, 27000 essays have been selected as winner. Total 5 of our students, 3 from UG section namely Sonali Jain, Jinisha Kanjiya, Riya Patel, 2 from PG section namely Brijal Panchal and Divyesh Patel have been selected.
We, SRIMCA and UTU family would like to congratulate them and their parents. We hope that our students make us feel proud wherever they go and shine as star.
SRIMCA Faculty Topped at State Level Paper Presentation Competition, 18th February, 2017
Mr. Nilay Vaidya Professor, SRIMCA(MCA) presented paper, titled "Impact of Technological Revolution, Digitization and Data Analytics on the Learning Environment" and secured 1st Rank in State Level Paper Presentation Competition(Research Level). The research level competition was organized with the theme of "Digital India" by the G. H. Patel Post Graduate Department of Computer Science and Technology, Sardar Patel University in association with the Computer Society of India, Vallabh Vidyanagar Chapter on 18th February, 2017.

Smt. Chandaben Mohanbhai Patel Institute of Computer Applications, Changa has organized Ignite-2017 inter- college competition on 18th February, 2017. Sports Days Celebration at SRIMCA from 23rd to 25th January, 2017
We are happy to announce successful completion of sports day celebrated in SRIMCA, UTU. The main objective behind the sport was to provide an environment for physical developments of the students, to provide opportunity to the students to showcase their talents in the field of sports and to develop sportsman spirit among them. The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the oath being administered by Mr. Vivek Fumakia. Sport Committee head Mr. Pinkesh Patel leaded the event by declaring the sports days as open by cheering them up with Hip-Hip Hurray. Once the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes. Students of various course competed class-wise in indoor as well as outdoor events including 100 meter & 200 meter race, Cricket, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Tug of War, Kho-Kho, Basketball and Football. With great enthusiasm various indoor games such as Carom, Chess, Table Tennis and Badminton were played in individual and double to develop sportsman spirit among the students. For refreshment games like musical chair and Lemon Spoon were played where students enjoyed the most. All faculty and students participated with full energy and enjoyed three days full on.
MCA Alumni Talk on 31st January, 2017
Mr. Kunal Parekh Post-Graduated with MCA from SRIMCA during the year 2006. He is currently working as a Technology Architect in Infosys, Pune. Infosys is a global leader in technology services and consulting. He is working on projects related to ASP.NET, Data Science. He talked about his life in SRIMCA and enrollment into IT industry. He spoke about the enjoyable experiences during the three years of college including the curricular. Co-curricular activities and the final year project. He then described his experiences of previous companies. His current, job as a technology architect was also discussed in brief. Later, Mr. Kunal Parekh provided a brief on the complications and obstacles he personally faced during his lifetime. He advised the students that there is no substitute for hard work and sincerity. Patience and making the best out of every situation are some other characteristics expected from the generation. All student must have self-learning attitude. The session lasted for more than an hour. The students from 6th semester BCA, 6th semester IMCA and 4th semester MCA attended the interaction program. Students asked lots of questions on current trends in technology, current projects and types of questions asked in interviews for job. At the end, Mr. Pinkesh Patel, head of alumni association appreciated valuable inputs and the motivational talk given by Mr. Kunal Parekh.
An Expert Session on Big Data, 11th January, 2017
An expert session on Big Data was arranged at SRIMCA on 11th January, 2017. Students of MCA 4th semester, BCA 6th semester and Integrated MCA 6th semester were present to gain knowledge during the session. The speaker of the session Mr. Savan Raithatha is the founder of Solytics Infotech IT firm at Rajkot and former Assistant Professor at SRIMCA. Mr. Savan Raithatha is very experienced person of IT company as well as academia. The topics which were highlighted during session are Data Mining, Data Science and Big Data Analytics. Mr. Savan Raithatha has shared about various job profiles that a technical IT person can pursue, he has enlighten students about their career and motivated them also.

A One Day Session on Java Programming, 4th January, 2017
A one day session on core Java was organized on 4th January, 2017 for MCA 4th semester students with the objective to polish up their Java programming fundamentals. More than 140 students of MCA 4th semester have attended the session and took benefit of the same. The session was conducted by Ms. Jenisha Tailor and Ms. Puja Sharma. The topics programming paradigm, object oriented concepts such as Class and Object, Inheritance, Interface, Encapsulation, Polymorphism and Java Bean were covered during the session. After the theory session two hours for practical session was arranged so that students shall have hands-on for the content covered during session. Session was quite interactive and the day was fruitful.

The Orientation Programme was organized with the objective to assist the new students of Integrated MCA and BCA in making a successful academic, intellectual and social transitioning in to the SRIMCA environment. The facets of the orientation included knowing about the Campus, Institute, Senior Students, rules and regulations, best practices and learning pedagogy. They were also made familiar to amenities like the Canteen, Hostels, Common Room, Computer Laboratory, Class Rooms and Language Lab.

SRIMCA organized "Parents Meet" on the first day of its three Days Orientation Programme 2016. The basic objective of this meet is to interact with parents of the new comers, to brief them about the institute and its activities, to solve queries of parents related to their child's education at Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management & Computer Application. It was highly interactive session whereby Counselor Namely Mr. Jitendra Upadhyay, Ms.Ronak Gandhi of BCA course and Ms. Chetana Tailor, Mr.Nilay Vaidya of Integrated MCA has introduced themselves to parents, parents raised their questions and counselor team solved their queries.

SRIMCA celebrates Independence Day on 13th August, 2016.
Independence Day Celebration organized by Cultural Committee of SRIMCA on 13th August 2016.The occasion is organized to enjoy and celebrate the national festival which highlights the spirit of patriotism among the students as well as enhance the innovative and creative mind of students. The celebration creates the feelings of responsibility towards the family, society and country. The celebration goal was to pay tribute to all freedom fighter, famous leader who laid an important aspect to our nation.
Celebration consisted of the given below five event in detail with the winner list of each event in which student has done registration and participate to exposed their idea and thought regarding freedom and nationalism for India.

talent by acting in film and has really created good script which was appreciable.

SRIMCA Organized Fresher Party Radiance 2016 on 25th October 2016.
On 25th October 2016, SRIMCA had organized Fresher Party named Radiance 2016. The party is organized to enjoy and welcome the new batch of 2016 students and showcase their talent too by participating in events. The program start by providing condolence to Uri Attack Martyrs by candle march and small documentary expressing the deep patriotic feeling for the soldier of our nation.
The Fresher Party performed by the student's exhibit their hidden talent. They need an outlet to showcase their potential and creativity. On 15th October, 2016, it arrived for the campus placement for MCA final year students. After clearing institute level exams (technical test, aptitude test), 38 students were shortlisted for pre-placement talk, 38 appeared in the technical and aptitude test. After successfully clearing aptitude test 9 students were shortlisted and appeared for the technical interview. After technical interview, finally 3 students of the T.Y M.C.A namely Sajidhusain Ansari, Rahul Parmar and Vishal Sharma selected for their final academic project and placement with package Rs. 1,20,000 to 1,44,000.

Social Cause by SRIMCA Students for Trivedi Mevada Bhrahmin Community
It is moment of proud that at SRIMCA students learns not only educational curriculum but apart from this, their social contribution is also remarkable. Three students of MCA final year namely Mr. Darshan Valand, Mr. Sohil Chamadia and Ms. Khushbu Maurya has developed a website www.bamroda.in for the Bamroda Vibhag Trivedi Mevada Bhrahmin Samaj(Surat).
As the the 21st century is digital era, the website is a great medium to stay connected with the community and their updates. These students has developed the website under the guidance of Mr. Jitendra Upadhyay and the support of another four students namely Ms. Divyata Chauhan, Mr. Roshan Rathod, Mr. Jishan Siddiqui, and Mr. Sandeep Maurya. Expert Session on "Emerging Trends in Distributed Computing" organized SRIMCA Date: 12th & 13th September 2016
Distributed and grid computing are widely-used industry standards, that supports the Internet, third-party service providers as well as generalized services for load balancing and sharing. Catering to this industry trend, SRIMCA has organized 2 days expert session on "Emerging trend in distributed computing" from 12th to 13th September 2016 for TYMCA 5th semester students specially for those opting the electives of Distributed Computing and Software Project Management.
The session's expert was Mr. Devendra Thakor, Assistant Professor CGPIT UTU. In his first session Mr. Thakor made the students aware regarding distributed, grid computing and RMI. The second session was a practical hands on RMI. The last session focused on the emerging trends in this area along with its applications in the industry and high performance computing.
More than 30 students attended the sessions and found it very instrumental. Students had interacted with the expert for their queries which were easy resolved with newer insight.

He covered the points on motivation, understanding and believing in oneself, identifying oneselfand living a divine life. He also focused on the technology landscape under which he shown the reality between the students knowledge and the industry requirement. In his speech he gave real time examples of his own life and also explained the reality by story-telling.Session followed by few activities having an objective to check the negativity and positivity inside oneself and to know about what they are and what they want to be.

Faculty Development Programme on "E-learning tool - MOODLE" on 1 st July, 2016
Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management and Computer Application organized one day Faculty Development Programme on "E-learning tool - MOODLE" on 1 st July, 2016. The session was conducted by Ms. Khushbu Patel, Teaching Assistant, SRIMCA who has been associated with institute since 2012.
MOODLE is a learning platform that enhances the existing learning environment. The acronym of MOODLE is Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment. MOODLE is a leading virtual learning environment and can be used in many types of environments such as education, training and development and business settings.
The objective of the programme is to enlighten faculty members on teaching-learning process using e-learning tool. The FDP covers hands on session on following themes:
- Overview of E-learning tool MOODLE
- Server configuration and Client side setup
- Course and User management
- Online Quiz, Assignment and Feedback management
The session was poured with hands on exercise which has increased the interest of learning.
Ms. Jikitsha Sheth has been awarded Ph.D. degree at SRIMCA by UTU, June 2016
Ms. Jikitsha Sheth is Assistant Professor at SRIMCA. Under the guidance of Dr. Bankim Patel, Director, SRIMCA, she has earned her Ph.D. degree in Computer Science in June - 2016 for her research work entitled "DESIGNING AND DEVELOPMENT OF STEMMER AND STRING SIMILARITY MEASURE FOR GUJARATI LANGUAGE AND THEIR APPLICATION IN TEXT SUMMARIZATION SYSTEM". The work is based on Natural Language Processing domain which aims to design a stemmer that strips off suffixes from a given Gujarati word. Also a String similarity measure is developed that handles "jodani" i.e. spelling errors in Gujarati and finally using these two components; a text summarization system is developed. The work is first of its kind for Gujarati language wherein computer is taught to understand Gujarati words and sentences till some extent. She is the first Ph.D. candidate of Uka Tarsadia University. SRIMCA family congratulates her for the achievement.
SRIMCAns Rocks at IBM TGMC-2015
Three students of SRIMCA emerged victorious in the contest organized by IBM The Great Mind Challenge-2015. The winning team "Cloud Innovation" is composed of Mr. Gaurav Chaudhari, Brinda Tandel and Chitra Adhvaryu of MCA 4th semester students, the team has developed a project and was selected in top 20 projects from all over India. It is again an achievement that, this is the only winner team from Gujarat. It was an incredible opportunity to represent SRIMCA, UTU at national level contest which has bring honor to the institution as well as students and their guide.
IBM organizes The Great Mind Challenge(TGMC) contest for Computer Science students, every year thousands of teams from all over India participates and very few team shines in the winning list. SRIMCA family proudly congratulates them for the achievement.
