  • Donation by staff of SRIMCA to "Vatsalya Education and Medical Trust" on 7th April, 2014 more

    SRIMCA believes in act of kindness and put efforts to help the needy in whatever possible way. Faculty of SRIMCA has done such act of kindness by donating to "Vatsalya Education and Medical Trust" which is established for helping the orphan kids in their education and medical expenses. 10 faculties of SRIMCA has contributed in this act and also received acknowledgment from the trust.

  • Blood Donation Camp organized by SRIMCA 11th February, 2014 more

    SRIMCA had organized a blood donation camp on 11th February 2014. The camp was organized at ManibaBhula Nursing College. Total 4 faculties and 163 students donated blood which was collected by Sardar Hospital BloodBank,Bardoli. Students of SRIMCA had volunteered to perform their best in motivating students and helping the hospital staff.

  • Act of Kindness by SRIMCA students and faculties 28th January, 2014 more

    ArvindNarendrawasawa, a student of Mota School met with a severe accident. SRIMCA through co-operative efforts of students and faculties raised fund on 28th January, 2014 for the noble cause. The institute is fortunate to help Arvind for his medical treatment who is admitted in ShriSitaram Hospital, Umrakh - Bardoli.

  • Congratulations To the students of SRIMCA and Department of Computer Science and Technology, UTU for getting placed in the renowned companies, Date: 20th June 2014 more

    It is a moment of mammoth pride and pleasure that 135+ Final Year students of MCA and M.Sc. (CA) have been placed at various companies before their final results were out. The placement activities for the MCA and M.Sc. (CA) students started right in the beginning of the academic year in the month of July 2013. Starting with various sessions on facing the interviews, preparing CVs etc. Right the way through the year various companies like IBM, TCS, Essar Steel India Pvt. Ltd., Solwin InfoTech and many more to be added on; provided off campus and/or on campus placement opportunities to our students. On the top of it, students have visited 70+ companies for the internship and placement and many of them were earning handsome amount of stipend during their academic projects as well.

    We are swollen with pride to announce that the students were placed with the average package of 2.64 Lacs per annum. The performance and experience of students was outstanding during the placements and hope the best they can give to their respective companies.

  • SRIMCA students got short listed in campus interview organized by La-Net Team Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Date: 17th May 2014 more

    Campus interview was organized by La-Net Team Solutions Pvt. Ltd. for software developers in Asp.net, PHP and Mobile Technologies. La-Net Team is well-known software outsourcing company that focuses on highly qualitative, timely delivered and cost effective offshore software development services to its clients. The panel members were Mr. Karan Kachara, Mr. Vinay Krishnan Panicker, Mr. Jitendra Vadhiyar and Mr. Kaushik Thadani. The placement process was comprised of pre-placement talk, technical test and final interview. Total thirty students from various program attended it.

  • Grand Achievement by students of SRIMCA, Date: 9th May 2014 more

    It is an immense pleasure to announce that two students of SRIMCA from T.Y M.C.A (6th semester) namely Ravi Paghdal and Mahesh Darji were working as project trainee in Net-Square Solutions Private Limited, Ahmedabad. Net-Square Solutions Private Limited is a niche Information Security Service provider. Net-Square Solutions Private Limited completely and mainly focused on technology based areas of information security like application & infrastructure security, basically anything technical which may pose any risk at all to the vital and critical information of an Enterprise.

    They got their appointment as an employee from 1st May, 2014 and immediately after that during project training only, they were selected as the company representative by their Organization to visit UAE. This is a wonderful opportunity that our students got to face the customers overseas. This is the very first time in the history of SRIMCA that the students got an opportunity to work overseas during their academic training.

  • Achievement at "Earthian 2013" Wipro's sustainability program for schools and colleges, Date: 17th April 2014 more

    Earthian, Wipro's sustainability program for educational institutions aims to create sustainability learning in schools and colleges. It was designed in two phases. In the first phase, participants were required to submit their entries in the form of essays, narratives and scripts on various scenarios related to sustainability and are encouraged to identify a socio-environmental scenario relevant in their context, explore multiple layers, unravel the inter-relatedness, do a critical analysis and suggest possible approaches in their entry. The Earthian programme received over 2000 registrations and 900 submissions from across the globe.

    It is a moment of immense proud and pleasure as student of SY M.C.A Mr. Ilyas M Patel from Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management and Computer Application participated in it and was awarded the 'Certificate of Excellence' for the paper titled 'Sustainable Development in India-Perspectives'. He was been selected on the basis of his understanding of issues, exploring various nuances of complexity and providing clear arguments for grounded approaches.

  • SRIMCA students got short listed in campus interview organized by RISAV Group, Date: 7th April 2014 more

    Campus interview was organized by RISAV group for different posts in corporate sector namely Sales Management, Website Development, Software Developer, Administrative Management, Trainees in Software/Hardware and many more. RISAV Group is a well know Group working in Telecommunication, Software Development and Corporate Finance. The panel members were Mr. Anmol Singh an owner of Risav Group and Mr. Rajesh Mahajan technical head of RISAV Group. The placement process was comprised of pre-placement talk, aptitude test and final interview. Total sixty students from various program attended it. It is a moment of immense proud and pleasure to announce that 5 students of T.Y M.C.A namely Kalra Shilpa, Shinde Vinod, Gainchandani Anita, Gohil Priyanka, Trivedi Jigar from Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management and Computer Applications got short listed for personal interview.

  • Active participation of students from Faculty of Computer Science and Technology in 'The Great Mind Challenge' organized by IBM, Date: 31st March 2014 more

    'The Great Mind Challenge' (TGMC) contest is organized by IBM every year; projects are invited from students across the country that can develop solutions for real-time problems and scenarios. The Great Mind Challenge is also utilized as meeting ground for large IT corporations in seek of young talent from universities looking for recruitment opportunities. It provides students with the unique opportunity to work alongside world-class scientists in the leading industrial IT research organization and explore them in the real world.

    It is a moment of proud and immense pleasure that 180 students from Faculty of Computer Science and Technology have participated in TGMC event and worked on the projects listed by the TGMC group. They successfully completed and submitted the project work carried out by them using 'Mobile Applications' to IBM. Some of the project definitions are 'Customer Mobile Apps for Retail Receipt Manager', 'Employee Information System', 'Online Chat Application', 'Student Management System', 'Tour and Travel India' and many more.

    In the previous academic years we have teams who were the winners for 'TGMC' and many more teams were selected for the final round of face-to-face-interview. This year expecting more number of teams to get selected and hope the winners would be announced from Faculty of Computer Science and Technology.

    Mr. Sapan Naik was the co-ordinator for 'The Great Mind Challenge' contest and motivated the students to explore their talent.

  • Esteemed Presence of Mr. Rajesh Gadhiya, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Surat District on "UTSAV 2014" organized by SRIMCA, Date: 30th March 2014 more

    "UTSAV 2014" an annual day celebration and farewell for the students of SRIMCA. Mr. Rajesh Gadhiya the Deputy Superintendent of Police for Surat district gave his venerated presence as an honorable chief guest for the event and inaugurated the formal function. Various dignitaries were present namely Dr. D. R. Shah Vice Chancellor of Uka Tarsadia University, Shri. Kiritbhai Patel Secretary of BPKM Trust, Shri. Arvindbhai Patel Joint Secretary BPKM gave their esteemed presence. Dr. D. R. Shah sir had shared words of wisdom and motivated the students. Mr. Rajesh Gadhiya gave a squat talk to motivate the youth to indulge themselves in the civil services as it is believed that the youth can change the society in the best of manner than what it is today and it would help to be a better place for people to live and provide guidance to last year students how they can get into the civil services and at a very young age got the control of five Talukas say Bardoli, Mahuva, Mandvi, Palsana and Kadodara GIDC. Formal function ended followed by Lunch and cultural activities which involved fun with heaps of dancing and singing.

    800+ students and 45+ faculties from Faculty of Computer Science and Technology gave their presence in "UTSAV 2014".The event was concluded by giving farewell to the last year students and scoop of ice cream enjoyed by everyone.

  • Annual Day & Farewell Function, named as "SPARSH-2014" organized by Department of Management, SRIMCA, Date: 29th March 2014 more

    On 29th March, 2014, Department of Management, Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management & Computer Application (SRIMCA) had organized Annual Day & Farewell Function, named as "SPARSH-2014". The Annual Day consisted of prize distribution ceremony, ethnic events and farewell for final year MBA students. The chief guest of event was Mr. Dharmesh Parmar (Deputy Commissioner of Industries and General Manager of District Industries Centre, Vyara), the guests of honor were Mr. Bhagubhai Patel (President, BPKM), Dr. Dinesh Shah (Provost, UTU), and Mr. Kiritbhai Patel (Secretary, UTU), Mr. Arvindbhai Patel (Joint-Secretary, BPKM). Besides these, other guests were the directors of various departments of UTU.

    The chief guest, Mr. Dharmesh Parmar, has encouraged students to be an entrepreneur, and he has also invited the Department of Management to visit various industries of Vyara District. The guests of honor has congratulated the students for their achievements in academics and non-academics activities and blessed them for the bright future. Dr. Prashant Joshi had mentioned the all activities that Department of Management has carried out into the year of 2013-14.

    In prize distribution ceremony, the department has awarded all the students for their achievements in academics and non-academics activities (Extra-curricular). The purpose of prize distribution ceremony was to motivate the students to do their best every time. The main highlight of this ceremony was the award for "the Best student of the Year 2013-2014", and the title won by Ms. Ekta Patel from SYMBA. In this event, Department of Management had distributed, total 32 academic awards, 140 sports awards, 150 ethnic events awards and 110 external events awards.

    The ethnic events include the dancing, singing, drama and other fun activities prepared by students. This event was organized specially to give opportunity to students to remove their stage fear, and come up with their best in non-academic activities too. And at last but not the least SRIMCA had bided adieu to final year MBA students.

    The event was a huge success for SRIMCA, and it was not possible without the cooperation of each and every people involved in it.

  • A Professional Talk on "Teaching Methodology and Assessment Parameters" organized by SRIMCA, Date: 27th March 2014 more

    Resource Person: Dr. R. G. Kothari, Dean, Faculty of Education and Psychology, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara.

    Research conducted over the past few decades shows it's impossible for students to take in and process all the information presented during a typical lecture, and yet this is one of the primary ways college students are taught. Dr. R. G. Kothari delivered a talk on Teaching Methodology and Assessment Parameters in which faculties from different Departments and Institutes of Uka Tarsadia University were present. He enlightened on the ways in which faculties can successfully teach students the principles and practices of the respective discipline using the best ways of teaching methodology which comprises of asking questions frequently in the class, usage of modern technologies and consent them to learn at their own pace. He also briefed on how to tackle students as they are in heterogeneous form, significance of what to teach? and how to teach? Apart from that he focused different critical aspects on which the evaluation of the students should be done and emphasized how the qualities of the students can be enhanced by the seminars which should be conducted by them which will truly prepare them for careers in the 21st century.

    Overall, 75+ faculties from SRIMCA and other Institutes/Departments of Uka Tarsadia University attended the session. Ms. Jayshri Tailor initiated the session by the brief introduction of Dr. R. G. Kothari and handled the entire session. Mr. Sandip Delwadkar, Assistant Professor SRIMCA, concluded the session by giving vote of thanks to Dr. R. G. Kothari for his knowledge sharing and sparing valuable time.

  • Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Department of Management, SRIMCA Organized workshop on Option Trading Strategies by using Software, Date: 19th March 2014 more

    An authority in subject of option trading, who have conducted various national and international workshop, was in Department of management, Srimca for conducting one day workshop on option trading strategies with software.

    Mr. GovindJhawar with his team namely, Mr. Yogesh Darji and technical expert Mr. Mohsin were in Department of management, Srimca and conducted workshop throughout day. The Participants were from SYMBA (Finance), BBA (Finance) students.

    Mr. Govindjhawar in first session of workshop covered various topics like, basic call & put, option pricing, option Greeks. In second half, he has shown practical screen based trading by using software. He has shown how option Greeks can help investor to earn handsome profit in option market. He has shown tremendous opportunity in stock market to make money wisely with knowledge of right tool and strategies. He thrown light on some important areas of option market. He has rightly set the tone for future workshops to come on area of derivative market. With live demonstration using stock market software, he explained option strategies to the participants. Participants have also designed their own strategies with real time data set. The workshop were greatly appreciated by participants.

  • SRIMCA students selected for final round of National Level Creativity Aptitude Test, at IIT, Delhi. more

    NCAT (National Creativity Aptitude Test) 2014 is organized by International forum for Excellence in higher education and first round of exam was conducted at SRIMCA on 8th February this year. The NCAT is designed to sensitize the students to the domain of creative thinking and motivate them to read, learn and practice the same. The objective of NCAT is to assess the creativity quotient of a student and his/her level of motivation. Total 106 students from MCA (First and Second year students) took part in it, out of which two students of SRIMCA are selected for final round.   • Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Department of Management, SRIMCA, Uka Tarsadia University organized one day workshop on "Entrepreneurship", Date: 15th March 2014 more

    Resource Person: Prakash Solanki, EDI, Ahmedabad.

    In order to promote Entrepreneurship skills, Department of Management, SRIMCA organize one day workshop on Entrepreneurship. Mr. Prakash Solanki who is member of various national and international councils of Entrepreneurship, invited to conduct workshop for FY & SYMBA students.

    Mr. Prakash Solanki during workshop enlighten audience with lot of practical aspects about how to start industry, how to identify business opportunity, whom to approach for what, how to get fund for starting a business and so on. His practical experience in the field of entrepreneurship really helped audience to gain knowledge. Before attending workshop, most of participants were afraid to be entrepreneur because of various reasons like, funding, risk, lack of confidence etc. After attending this workshop they are motivated to be their own entrepreneur and wanted to contribute in economic development of the nation.

  • A Workshop on "Mobile Application Development" organized by SRIMCA under UTU, Date: 11th March 2014 more

    Project Cell of ShrimadRajchandra Institute of Management & Computer Application under UTU organized full day workshop on "Mobile Application Development" for MCA - 2nd and 4th Semester students. This workshop was exclusively forthe students who are going to participate in TGMC competition.The Great Mind Challenge (TGMC) is an annual nationwide software development competition, created by the Academic Initiative ofIBM. Approximately 100 students were participated in this workshop enthusiastically. The session was conducted by Mr. Rajendra Chaudhary who is IBM trainer. The workshop is divided into two sessions. In first session resource person delivered talk on introduction of Android, Basic on creation of emulator and simulator and practical demonstration about usage of HTML,Java Script and CSS in Work Light Environment, deploy and run application and conversion of project into apk file. In the second session he focused on step by step procedure for installation of DB2, discussed common problems occurred during installation and solved the query of students.

  • Students of SRIMCA secured First rank in "Prastuti-Poster Presentation" at C. M. Patel Institute of Computer Applications, Charusat, Changa, Date: 22nd February 2014 more

    It is feeling of immense pleasure for Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management and Computer Application, Uka Tarsadia University that 24 students of MCA had participated in various technical events in "IGNITE 2014" - held at C. M. Patel Institute of Computer Application, Charusat, Changa on 22nd February 2014.

    Events namely Code Busters, EtherLAN, Design Race, IT Quizzitive and Prastuti were organized there. Under the event "Code Bursters" competitions such as Storm, Code 'J'am and Top Coder were organized, In event "EtherLAN" competitions namely CS Roadies, Age of Empires and Tunnel of Speed were arranged. "Design Race" was also one of the events which included the competitions like Data Masters and Web Designing under its banner. Event "IT Quizzitive" had IT Quiz competition and event "Prastuti" encompassed Poster Presentation competition in it.

    Total 25 teams from various colleges had participated in poster presentation competition of "Prastuti" event. Among these 25 teams, it's our joyous moment to share that a team of Ms. Janvee Desai and Ms. Pooja Thanky of 4th semester had secured 1st rank in the same competition. The theme of the poster was "Precision Farming" - a smart farming technology that uses information technology tools to take decision for accuracy. It is also known as embedded system.

  • A Workshop on "How to Face Interview" organized by SRIMCA and Department of Computer Science & Technology under UTU, Date: 31th January 2014 more

    Training and Placement Cell of Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management & Computer Application and Department of Computer Science & Technology under UTU, jointly organized workshop on "How to Face Interview" for MCA-2nd Semester and M.Sc.(CA)- 2nd Semester students. Approximately 200 students participated in this workshop enthusiastically. The session was conducted by Training & Placement Coordinator of UTU Mr. Mulchand Sen. Session started with a real life experiment about importance of individual in the world and a short video on interview process. During this two hours session, the resource person quoted many examples, stories and real life experience to develop attitude and sincerity for getting job. The session covered various aspects of interview process. The core focus of the session was on dos and don'ts in interview. The resource person covered various sources of getting job. He also focused on different online resources for worldwide placements.

  • A Workshop on "How to Write Effective Resume" organized by SRIMCA and Department of Computer Science & Technology under UTU, Date: 30th January 2014 more

    Training and Placement Cell of Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management & Computer Application and Department of Computer Science & Technology under UTU, jointly organized workshop on "How to Write Effective Resume" for SYMCA and FYMSCCA students. Approximately 200 students participated in this workshop enthusiastically. The session was conducted by Training & Placement Coordinator of UTU Mr. Mulchand Sen. During this two hours session, the resource person explained difference between resume, curriculum vitae and Bio-Data. The session covered various aspects of resume writing. The core focus of the session was on dos and don'ts in resume writing. The resource person covered different ways of writing effective resume. He also focused on tools which can be used for resume writing. Students actively interacted during the session and asked questions at the end to make their resume more effective and competitive.

    Students of SYMCA, SRIMCA, Uka Tarsadia University Mr. Nikunj Harsukhbhai Sardhara(Enrolment No.201304100120049) and Mr. Sagarsinh Takhtsinh Rathod (Enrolment No.201304100120022) had participated in State Level Event "TECHNOMANTRA 2014" organized by K.S. School of Business Management And Research, Gujarat University, Navrangpura, Ahmedabad on 24th-25th January 2014. They secured 1st rank in "Designers' sack" competition.

    Mr. Krunal Parekh is one of the most active alumni member of SRIMCA. He has shared his experience with students regarding work culture of software consultancy. Also discuss the interview process for the fresher when they go for project trainee. Most of the students have the questions about latest technology. So on demand of the students, Mr. Krunal have discussed about new technologies which is used by most of the organizations. 250+ students of S.Y. MCA (4th Semester) and F.Y.M.Sc. (CA) (2nd Semester) have attended the talk.   • An Expert Talk on "Cloud Computing Security issues and Basics" organized by SRIMCA, Date: 22nd January 2014 more

    Resource Person: Dr. Atul Patel, Professor and Dean, CMPICA, Charusat, Changa.

    Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management and Computer Application organized an expert talk on "Cloud Computing Security issues and Basics" for SYMCA 4th semester students. Dr. Atul Patel covered concept of different services models in cloud, characteristics, opportunities and challenges with pros and cons of Cloud computing and 5 key cloud security issues.

    Students were enlightened and interacted with expert through discussion and questions. The Expert talk like this shall definitely help the students in their career ahead. Mr. Savan Raithatha, Assistant Professor SRIMCA, concluded the session by giving thanks to Dr. Atul Patel for exploring the knowledge about recent technology "Cloud Computing".

  • An Expert Talk on "Advance Object Oriented Programming" organized by SRIMCA, Date: 22nd January 2014 more

    Resource Person: Dr. R. D. Morena, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat.

    Object-oriented programming is used to develop many applications-simple and complex applications, business applications, mobile and desktop applications. Developing an application with object oriented concepts increases the reliability of the application, in line with the industry trends, SRIMCA organized an expert talk on "Advance Object Oriented Programming". Dr. R. D. Morena briefed the students on the concepts of object oriented programming. Dr. Morena covered tips and tricks of memory allocation, memory release in case of constructors & destructors, Shallow copy and deep copy, overloading, overriding and working with generics/template.

    MCA 2nd semester students were enlightened and interacted with Dr. Morena. A doubt solving session for students was paced by Dr. Morena for thorough understanding of practical applications of these concepts. The Expert talk like shall definitely help the students in their career ahead and shall bring a positive change in their thinking and practical behavior. Mr. Jitendra Nasriwala, Associate Professor SRIMCA, concluded the session by giving thanks to Dr. Morena for his knowledge sharing and sparing valuable time.

  • Entrepreneurship Development Cell organized an expert talk on Personal Excellence, Date: 22nd January 2014 more

    Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Department of Management invited Mr. Sajanan Nambiar Businessman (Pearl Coating, Vapi) to deliver a talk on "Personal Excellence". During this one hour talk, the resource person covered numerous examples of student life experiences, need for development, use of time & use of technology. The core focus of the session was use of time wisely and effectively. How one can use time in best of manner so that it can enhance personal productivity and leads to excellence. He also focused on need of meditation at the early stage of life to excel in life.

  • SYMCA Student achieved Second Rank in "Web Designing Competition" at Gandhinagar, Date 18th January 2014 more

    Student of SYMCA Div-D, SRIMCA, Uka Tarsadia University Mr. Nikunj Harsukhbhai Sardhara (Enrolment No.201304100120049) had participated in State Level Technical Event "TechDay@CTI" organized by Chaudhari Technical Institute, Gandhinager on 18th January 2014. He secured 2nd rank in WEB DESIGNING competition. We SRIMCA & UTU family congratulate him for his success.

    Object-oriented programming is used to develop many applications-simple and complex applications, business applications, mobile and desktop applications. Developing an application with object oriented concepts increases the reliability of the application, in line with the industry trend, SRIMCA organized an expert talk on "Advance Object Oriented Programming". Dr. R. D. Morena briefed the students on the concepts of object oriented programming. Dr. Morena covered concepts of memory allocation, memory release in case of constructors & destructors, Shallow copy and deep copy, overloading, overriding and working with generics/template etc.

    MCA 2nd semester students were enlightened and interacted with Dr. Morena. A doubt solving session for students was paced by Dr. Morena for thorough understanding of practical applications of these concepts. The Expert talk like shall definitely help the students in their career ahead and shall bring a positive change in their thinking and practical behavior. Mr. Jitendra Nasriwala, Associate Professor SRIMCA, concluded the session by giving thanks to Dr. Morena for his knowledge sharing and sparing valuable time.

    Soon after completion of MBA Semester 3 University exam on 16th December 2013 & just at the beginning of MBA Semester 4, Training and Placement Cell, Department of Management scheduled a Pre-placement talk for MBA students. Mr. Amit Gala, Managing Director of Lycanz organization, Surat and his team visited campus for pre-placement talk and campus interview. During this two hours' presentation and interaction, Mr. Amit oriented about the company, job opportunity, unique & flexible model of job profile and growth opportunity in his firm. He motivated MBA students to take leadership and focus on taking initiatives of becoming entrepreneurs in his own group. The pre-placement talk was was ended with two rounds of interview and field training on 19th December 2013.

    Mr. Mahesh Vaghani the founder and CEO of Megnor Computer Private Limited delivered a session on motivation to use Open source tools and encourage students of first year MCA. 90 MCA students and faculty members participated in the session. During his talk Mr. Mahesh Vaghani discussed on the use of Open source tools such as Magento, Opencart, Prestashop, VirtueMart etc. to build solution in short time and get the advantage of open source tools already available instead of building it from the scratch. He advised students to be intact with latest IT field news. He provided tips for latest IT updates and made the students aware of the consequences if they aren't aware of the latest IT field updates. He also shared his own journey of experience from a student life to entrepreneur of his own firm. It was an interactive and live session for the students of MCA programme. Such motivational sessions certainly add value to computer science students of SRIMCA.

    Mr. Mulchand Sen & Mr. Krunal Patel participated in iFDP (International FDP) jointly organized by CKSVIM, Vadodara and GTU at Ahmedabad. Dr. Satinder Dhiman, Dean Department of Management, Woodbury University, USA was the resource person for this 2 days' iFDP. Around 50+ participants from 17+ MBA institutions across Gujarat participated in this program. The focus of first day program was on teaching excellence and second day was on Student performance evaluation. Dr. Dhiman shared various examples, stories, essence of The Geeta, Buddhism to inculcate the practice of best teaching practice. On second day, Dr. Dhiman explained about the evaluation scheme and the difference between management education in India and USA. The program ended with question answer session.

    Department of Management, SRIMCA organized Self-Development session for its FYMAM students. The speaker of the session was Mr. Vinay Madrasi. He addresses the students on the theories of Samskaras, characteristic of divinity & recognizing evolution as a necessity and the efficacy of cleaning and the attitude for a prayer. He encourages the students to enjoy the way of living through meditation. He discusses the various ways of systematic meditation. The session started with 10 mins quite time and then the above mentioned topics were covered.

    Students thoroughly enjoyed the session.

He also highlighted the importance of SMEs & career opportunities in this sector. During this session he shared the basic knowledge, professional etiquettes, skills, learning habit etc. The session provided a deeper insight to think strategically about career after MBA and MAM course. All students and staff members appreciated this session.

It is a very important Hindu festival celebrated in India with clat and great enthusiasm. Dahi handi or Mosaru Kudike is also an integral part of Janmashtami celebrations. It marks the mischievous and playful behaviour of Lord Krishna. Students of department of management were more excited to Broke "DAHI HANDI". All classes were participated into Broke this DAHI HANDI with taste of DJ. The Janmashtami celebration was really an awesome experience for the students which give them positive vibration.

  • An Industrial Visit to Bardoli Sugar Factory organize by Department of Management, SRIMCA, Dated: 11th September 2013 more

    An industrial visit to ASIA'S LAREGST SUGAR FACTORY IN BARDOLI was organized for the students of S.Y.M.B.A & M.A.M on 11th September 2013. The objective of arranging such industrial visit was to impart practical knowledge to the students. Students had visited departments like stores, and productions. During the visit students were explained about functionality of various departments by Labour officer and safety managers. At the end, Students had a meeting with the Managing Director, Mr. Pankajbhai Patel and other members in the board room of the Sugar Factory. In the discussion with students, Mr.Pankajbhai Patel had answered different questions raised by students like industrial relation, social responsibilities towards the employees, shareholders and public at large, Compensation, promotion techniques, quoting of prices and quality of the sugar produced etc. The interaction was useful and informative for the students.

    The Cultural Committee of Department of Management, SRIMCA, UTU has Organized the FRESHER PARTY and WELCOME FUNCTION for the Fresh Fragrance of Department of management on 1st of September, 2013. On Behalf of our all senior students of MBA and MAM, Mr. Savan Patel, Ms.Niyati Desai, Mr. Ankur Patel, Ms.Ekta Patel and Ms.Monali Patel give a very warm welcome to the new students of MBA and MAM. It feels very good. Almost all senior students of SRIMCA College are very polite and perhaps it is this trait that makes their fresher's party so frank, fun, engaging and memorable.

    The function started with welcoming the dignitaries on dais, lighting the lamp, reciting prayer in harmonious voice of all MBA and MAM Students. Dr. Prashant Joshi sir (Prof and Head of Department of management) and Shri Bhagu dada (the president of BPKM) are our valuable Guests for the function and they motivate and encourage the students by their Vibrant Speech. A welcome dance was done by SYMBA student Ms. Vrunda patel. The party was moved on by songs, dances, and Drama respectively by fresher, SYMBA and SYMAM students. The session was very interactive and live for the fresh MBA students. Such motivational sessions will certainly add value to the future managers of SRIMCA.

    In India the birthday of lord Krishna is celebrated as Janmashtani. Faculty of Computer Science & Technology organized Dahi Handi competition on the eve of Janmashtani. In Dahi Handi competition students have participated with enthusiasm. Almost 10 teams have participated & out of them TYBCA team emerged as winner who has reached the target of Handi in just 34 seconds. They demonstrate great team spirit & work.

He threw light on banking management, cash management, borrowing management, investment management, all cost element, risk management and its types and steps. He explained the Indian forex market, spot rate calculation, forward rate calculation and interest parity principle with current data to make the students understand calculation of the data. The program was informative for all the participants.

  • Four days Certification Workshop on IBM DB2 Fundamentals (302A), Date: 24th to 27th August 2013 more

    Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management and Computer Application had organized 4 days DB2 - 9 Fundamentals (302A) Certification Workshop during 24-27 August 2013. The objective of the certification workshop was to provide an exposure to current trends in IT Industry, through IBM Academic Initiative. As part of IBM Academic Initiative, total 96 Students and 8 faculties benefited through this training program.

    The objective behind the training is to polish student's skill before they become part of the industry. During the four days, participants got in-depth knowledge of IBM's flagship Relational Database Product DB2.

    Day 1 (24th August 2013)

    Mr. Amish Patel explained the various levels of DB2 Certification Examination and its importance. Initial discussion had spread awareness about various industry certifications among students. He started with the first topic "The Relational Model", Comparison of various models and in-depth discussion on relational model was carried out in first session. In the second session he explained various DB2 fundamentals and Data Studio. In the third session he explained working with databases and various database objects. In the last session Mr. Amish Patel introduced Structured Query Language. On first day students performed hands on labs on IBM Data Studio and working with databases and various database objects.

    Day 2 (25th August 2013)

    On second day Ms. Jikitsha Sheth started with revision of topics covered on first day. First session was conducted on Introduction to SQL and Database Objects, and gave some query based Exercises on tables to the students on concepts like constraints, join, group by, having clause, etc. Second session was conducted on database transactions and concurrency; she explained basic concepts and importance of transaction, various locks and isolation levels supported by DB2. On second day students completed hands on labs of concurrency, queries, etc.

    Day 3 (26th August 2013)

    On 3rd day Ms. Priti Prajapati started with revision of topics covered on second day. In the first session she explained DB2 backup and recovery functionality. On second day students completed hands on labs of backup and recovery. In the second session Ms. Chetna Tailor has discussed about Troubleshooting. In third session Ms. Jikitsha Sheth discussed about DB2 programming fundamentals. She explained overall approach of DB2 programming and how to work with embedded SQL.

    Day 4(27th August 2013)

    On forth day Mr. Dharmendra Bhatti had explained how to implement security in DB2, he talked about authentication and authorization. Further he also explained how to authorize using concepts of authorities and privileges. In second session Mr. Dharmendra Bhatti explained DB2 PureXML, he discussed what is XML, its importance, well-formed verses valid XML documents, XPATH, XQuery, SQL/XML, etc. On the last day students had performed hands on lab of DB2 pure XML and programming fundamental and DB2 Security.

    During the four days training session all the students enjoyed the lectures and lab sessions very much. Student got the conceptual and practical knowledge with great enthusiasm. Participants got knowledge in depth and simultaneously shaped up for certification examination.

    Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management and Computer Application had organized 4 days IBM Rational Team Concert V3.0 Certification Workshop from 24th August, 2013 to 27th August, 2013. The 4 days certification workshop was conducted by Mr. Vinod Patidar and Mr. Yogesh Sharma. Total 75 students and 9 faculty members attended this certification workshop.

    Day 1 (24th August 2013)

    Mr. Vinod Patidar explained IBM RTC Certification Examination and its importance. He started by explaining the meaning of "Rational" as well as importance of "Team work". He explained Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) phases such as Planning, Project Initiation, Feasibility study and Requirement analysis, Design, Coding, Testing, Deployment and Maintenance. He provided detailed explanation on various SDLC models such as Waterfall, Iteration, Rational Unified Process (RUP) and Agile. Also discuss in which situation which model is suitable. He provided introduction of Jazz as well as practically shown Jazz server installation. In this session students performed hands on Jazz server installation in lab.

    Day 2 (25th August 2013)

    On second day Mr. Vinod Patidar started with summary of topics covered on first day. He started the session with discussion on how the traditional software development process is different from agile methodology. He told students that Rational Team Concert supports both traditional and agile planning methodologies. He discussed the meaning of project related terminology such as artifacts, deliverable, phase, iteration, planning, and project lifecycle. Also gave an importance of stakeholders in project. He explained best practices for project planning. Gave detailed explanation on project planning methodologies in which he has discussed traditional approach, iterative approach and agile approach as well as how these approaches are differ. In traditional approach, he explained phases such as Requirements, Design, Implementation, Verification and Maintenance. In iterative approach, he explained phases such as Inception, Elaboration, Construction and Transition. In this session students completed hands on project creation and planning in lab.

    Day 3 (26th August 2013)

    On third day Mr. Vinod Patidar started with revision of topics covered on second day. He explained in detail of agile approach and fundamental of Scrum as the agile process. He gave clarity about the concept of story points, prioritized requirements, initial scheduling and scrum process. He provided a detailed explanation on process templates with iteration structure, roles, permissions, work item types and queries. He explained types of process templates such as formal project management process template and scrum template.

    Day 4 (27th August 2013)

    Mr. Vinod Patidar covered project area related basic terminologies such as repository, project area, team area, work item category, timeline, iteration etc. He provided a detailed explanation on project area elements such as identity of the project area, access control, process and project area configuration, roles for project and team members, project members and administrators, team area and team members, work item categories, releases, project timeline and iterations. In this session students completed hands on setting up a project area in lab. At last he has given some exercises to the students and solved whatever problems raised by students. Also discusses few sample questions with students to prepare for certification examination.

    Mr. Yogesh Sharma has played a vital role during training session. He was always with attendees to solve their hands on lab related problems.

    During the 4 days certification workshop, all attendees got conceptual and practical knowledge with great enthusiasm.

  • A One day Seminar on "Open Source Web Application Development Framework to CodeIgnitor" organized by SRIMCA, Date: 22nd August 2013 and 26th August 2013 more

    Keeping pace with the industry demands and social responsibility towards software community and society at large, a one day seminar was organized on two days - 22nd August 2013 and 26th August 2013 respectively on Open Source Web Application Development Framework Codeignitor by Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management and Computer Applications. Open Source application development tools are seeking broader adoption across IT industries as these tools are not only generally free of cost but they also can be modified according to the needs of the developer thus providing total accessibility to the source code. Open source tools are widely used to develop applications, shopping carts, ecommerce services, administration platforms, etc.

    On 22nd August 2013 450 students participated from computer science colleges of Valsad, Vapi, Umrakh, Vyara and Bilimora. On 26th August 2013 425 students participated from computer science colleges of Pandesara, Navsari, Amroli, Udhna and Bharthana. Along with them students of CGPIT, UTU had also participated.

    On both these days, morning and afternoon sessions were conducted on open source development and Codeignitor. In the morning session an introduction on open source web application development was given by Ms. Jaishree Tailor to the participants and during the afternoon session a practical demo of CodeIgnitor was given by Ms. Himadri Patel. The students participated enthusiastically, also questions from the students were invited which were satisfactorily solved by the resource persons.

    The spokesperson of the session on "Effective Resume Writing - A tool for winning the interview" was Mr. Mulchand Sen, [Asst. Professor, MBA, SRIMCA]. The session was arranged for third year MCA students for developing their resume writing skill. More than 180 students have attended the session. In this session, Mr. Mulchand  Sen explained the differences among Bio-data, CV and resume, points to be highlighted and focused in resume and how it helps in increasing chances of getting selected for the interview.

    Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management and Computer Application, Uka Tarsadia University organized seminar on Introduction to Software Testing and it's significance in IT Industry on 16th August 2013, Friday at SRIMCA Hall. Around 250+ students attendedthis seminar from Second Year MCA.

    The main objective of this seminar was to make aware students with one of their course consequence in IT Industry.

    Session started with the introduction of expert, by Mr. Savan A Raithatha. Key person of this talk was Mr. Pratik Shah whohad 10+ years of experience and presently work in Quick Start Global Services Pvt Ltd, Vadodara as a Team Location Head. He had already work with TCS(Mumbai), Patani(Gandhinagar) and Windowmaker Software Ltd., Vadodara. He had also an on-site experience (London and Cambridge) of working as a project coordinator for testing projects and he is also ISTQB certified.

His practical examples made the session more interesting. The program was interactive and informative for students as well as faculties. Around 180 students plus faculties had attended the session.

    The key note speaker of the seminar was Dr. V. Aditya Srinivas [COO BSE, MDP (IIM-Ahd)]

    The first session was intended to provide MBA Finance students' knowledge of the fundamental analysis. He briefly discussed about the various tools used for fundamental analysis for investor in economy, industries and explained how fundamental analysis is useful in picking right company for investment. He also threw light on recent scams and crisis that took place in last 5 years. The speaker explained the theory with case studies of DLF, Reliance, Kingfisher, NSEL and many more.

    The second session was addressed with the technical analysis and career opportunities. Dr. V. Aditya. Srinivas used Ace V software to make the students understand the technical aspects of the stock market of different companies like Reliance, Gold, Nifty Future and many more. The program was interactive and informative for students as well as faculties. He also enlightened the audience with reference customization and personalization of knowledge with real life practical examples.

    Shri ShishirTambawala, Retired Weight Measures and Consumer Protection Officer, Surat, Awardee of Best Consumer Protection Officer and having recognition to arrange maximum Consumer Awareness seminars all over Gujarat have visited Department of Management, Uka Tarsadia University, Tarsadi on August 2, 2013. With him, Mr. Chetan Tailor, Founder President of Consumer Protection Voice Foundation, Surat also visited the campus. Tambavalasir has nicely covered the standards of Weights and Measures Act, 1985, Package Commodity Rules, 1977 and Consumer Protection Act, 1986 and informed students about rights of consumers taking real world examples. He covered several cases from Education, Insurance and Banking sector. He also familiarize students about contact details for making complaints, in case of any consumer grievances. Finally, he answered all queries raised by students.

    Mehndi is a ceremonial art form which originated in ancient India. It is an unavoidable part of traditional Hindu ceremonies and looking to flair of women towards applying Mehndi irrespective of their religion, a Mehndi competition was organized on Saturday, 27th July, 2013. Where in total 26 students participated. We had also organized Nail Art competition, wherein total 10 students participated.

This programme intended to give basic information to MBA students regarding financial markets, its operation and precautions that one should take before investing in Stock market. The programme was really interactive and informative for students and faculties.

    One day seminar on "Knowledge Management" sponsored by AICTE was organized on 5th June 2013. More than 200 students participated in the seminar from different colleges. The seminar was graced with the presence of Shri Bhagubhai Patel, the President of BPKM as well as the Chief guest of the inaugural function of the seminar, The Guests of Honor and The Provost and CEO, UTU Dr. Dinesh Shah. Dr. N.C.Shah and Dr. K.R.Desai also graced this occasion with their valuable presence. The dignitaries along with the Key Note speaker of the seminar Mr. Partho Sengupta released the seminar proceedings. Shri Bhagubhai Patel and Dr. Dinesh Shah blessed the occasion with their words of wisdom.

    The first session was key note address by Mr. Partho Sengupta head of KM at iGate and expert in Enterprise Social Network Solutions from Mumbai. Mr Sengupta delivered his talk on "Interplay of Software and Change Management in Institutionalizing Knowledge Management". He made the session interactive and live. He emphasized on how challenging it is to harness the tacit Knowledge of the organization and focused upon collaboration through software. He showed how KM can be managed with the help of Microsoft SharePoint. He also enlightened the audience with reference customization and personalization of knowledge as per user of industry. He briefly discussed about initiatives that are adopted by business entities in the form of measuring KM, ROI analysis, Maturity Models etc.

    The second session of the seminar was an expert talk by Dr. Ravi Kant Associate Professor from SVNIT-Surat on "Investigating the role of knowledge-based intelligent systems in knowledge-management". He shared his valuable research knowledge on application and perspectives of knowledge management in large, medium, small and micro scale industries especially focused on Automobile sector. He also touched the basics of knowledge management and explained how industrial resources including man, machine, money and time can be optimized using knowledge management tools and techniques.

    Dr. R. M. Sonar Associate Professor at Shailesh J Mehta School of Management from IIT Powai, Mumbai headed the post lunch session where he discussed the "Role of Artificial Intelligence in Knowledge Management". He touched the practicalities of business intelligence and knowledge management. His industry examples made the session interesting. He brought to the audience the need to put efforts on processes used in knowledge creation: motivate and train the knowledge workers with methodologies, tools and techniques for creating knowledge. He also threw light on rule-based expert systems and case-based reasoning systems that have lot of potentials to be used in KM. He also briefed on how knowledge can be shared through knowledge portals and how unstructured knowledge can be structured.

    The last session of the seminar was Poster Presentation on the theme Knowledge Management. There were about nine posters received for the poster presentation. Dr. R.D. Morena Associate Professor VNSGU judged the posters. Dr Morena distributed the prizes for best two posters namely to Mr. Vikas Chomal from Narmada College of Computer Applications Bharuch and Mr. Tejas Ghadiyali from Udhana Citizen Co-op Bank Commerce College Surat bagged 1st and 2nd prizes respectively.

    The seminar ended with thanks giving to all the delegates who came from all over Gujarat, the various committee members and last but not the least the Coordinator Dr. Bankim Patel and the Co-Coordinator Mr. Jitendra Nasriwala Associate Prof. SRIMCA for their excellent management in facilitating the resources for the seminar to be a great success.

    SRIMCA students performed outstandingly in GTU examination. Total 3068 students appeared in MCA 5th Semester GTU Jan 2013 Examination which included 109 students of SRIMCA.
