Donation by staff of SRIMCA to "Vatsalya Education and Medical Trust"

SRIMCA believes in act of kindness and put efforts to help the needy in whatever possible way. Faculty of SRIMCA has done such act of kindness by donating to “Vatsalya Education and Medical Trust” which is established for helping the orphan kids in their education and medical expenses. 41 faculties of SRIMCA has contributed in this act and also received acknowledgment from the trust.

Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management and Computer Application, UTU Annual Day "BLISS 2015" celebrated on 21st March 2015.

The Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management and Computer Application on 21st March 2015 Saturday celebrated its magnificent and reverberating Annual Day entitled as "BLISS 2015". The theme was befitted with the thought to express Blessed Loved Inspired at Splendid Srimca.

The event was graced with the presence of the Shri BhaguBhai Patel (BPKM) and other dignitaries, whom first of all was given the flora; welcome. Then they were invited to the stage to light the lamp of knowledge. The celebrations were initiated with the UTU song. The Director sir and Coordinator of the event has energized everyone with best wishes for the event.

The annual day performed by the student's exhibit their hidden talent. They need an outlet to showcase their potential and creativity. The students of today are not shy as they are exposed to the environment. However, they need mentoring and proper direction to channelize their potential. The various activities performed on the occasion include solo dance, solo singing, mono acting and fashion show. The students anchor different segments of the function with a view to work independently.

The audience comprising students, faculty, staff, alumni, etc., enjoy every item of the programme with a great fun. Especially students are seen highly jubilant and appreciate the performances of their fellow students by putting their hands together. The event was a huge success for all of us, and it was not possible without the cooperation of each and every faculty member as well as students of SRIMCA.

Sports Days Celebrations at SRIMCA from 9th to 12th March, 2015

We are happy to announce successful completion of sports day celebrated in SRIMCA,UTU. The main objective behind the sport was to develop the skill in different sports and to inculcate sportsman spirit to achieve success. The sports day celebration was from 9/3/2015 to 12/3/2015.Different outdoor sports such as Cricket, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Tug of War, Kho-Kho were played in singles and doubles with great enthusiasm. Along with that indoor game such as Carom, Chess, Table Tennis and Badminton etc. were also played in individual and double. Extra category games like musical chair, Matka Fod and Lemon Spoon in which students enjoy the most. Almost all students participated in one or the another game. All faculty coordinators and student coordinators were active throughout the sports days. All faculty also enjoyed a lot and they have also participant in cricket, Table Tennis, Badminton etc. with full of energy and enthusiasm.

Campus Interview by "Success Option" - Management and HR Consultant, Surat on 28th February, 2015.

Training & Placement Cell of Department of Management organized a Pre-placement, Group discussion and Interview for Marketing and HR students on 28th February, 2015. The whole procedure was carried out by Success Option - HR and Management Consultant from Surat. A total of 12 students from Marketing and HR appeared in Final Interview.

Ms. Aarti Kothari from HR was given final placement offer after clearing all three rounds of selection procedure. Annual package of Rs. 1,44,000/- has been offered to her.

Two Days Faculty Development Program on Digital Image Procession from 21st to 22nd February, 2015

Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management and Computer Application of Uka Tarsadia University (Gujarat) organized ISTE Sponsored two-days Faculty Development Programme on Digital Image Processing from 21st to 22nd February, 2015. There were in all 14 institutes and 71 delegates wherein participation had crossed the state boundaries too.

Dr. Mukesh Zaveri, Associate Professor from Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) Surat, Gujarat, was the expert for Day-1 of FDP. During the pre-lunch session, Dr. Zaveri enlightened the participants on fundamentals as well as applications of digital image processing, image enhancement, image filtering, entropy, and quantization. In the post-lunch session Dr. Zaveri sensitized the audience talking upon different research topics in digital image processing along with excellent examples and challenges. He also led the audience to think about 'How to do Ph.D.?' by giving useful tips and sharing his observations and personal experience.

Day-2 was initiated by Dr. Mukesh Zaveri by emphasizing on Markov Random Field, Gibbs Random Fields and basics of machine learning along with its applications. Dr. Narendra Patel, Associate Professor , Birla Vishwakarma Mahavidyalaya (BVM), Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat headed two sessions consecutively for rest of the day on 'Morphological operations and its applications' and 'Video Abstraction'. He enriched the audience with his experience on 'Lip Detection' and scope of research in this area. The examples discussed by him were very helpful in solving real world challenges faced by the participants in image processing.

Participants had attended both the days with sense of learning and enthusiasm. Their queries resembled the joy of learning and resource persons' answers satisfied their curiosity.

An expert talk on Value Based Education- Religion and Yoga for MBA on 04/03/2015

A one day Training Program on Open Source Software "Ubuntu and LibreOffice" for School Teachers on 27th February, 2015

SRIMCA, UTU has jointly organized a one day training for teachers on open source software "Ubuntu and LibreOffice" in association with District Education Office (DEO), Navsari on 27th February, 2015. 523 teachers from 181 government, semi-government & self financed with secondary and higher secondary category schools of Navsari district has participated in the event.

The agenda of the one day teachers training program was to enhance their knowledge in open source technologies for the educational purposes so that will motivate them to use open source software and tools. On this knowledgeable day major dignitaries of education sector such as Shree Dineshbhai Patel the DEO of Navsari, has sower the light of knowledge with their presence. He has appealed the teachers of various secondary and higher secondary standards to learn from the environment and implement the best practices at respective schools. He has also appreciated Uka Tarsadia University for the world class infrastructure, quality education and discipline in all the aspects.

Following were the major topics that were covered including practical demonstration of major aspects of the tool during the program by the resource persons:

A session on "Trends in IT industries" by the Alumni member on 28th February, 2015

SRIMCA has hosted a session on "Trends in IT Industries" by Mr. Kunal Parekh an alumni member. He is currently working as Senior Software Developer at Exfo India, Pune. He is persuing 8 years of experience of working with many IT industries situated in India as well as foreign. The students of MCA 4th semester has attended the session and raised many questions regarding IT industries such as recent trends in IT, what should be done for the career advancement, what IT company demands from students who belongs to the field of IT and Computer Applications. Questions based on outsourcing also raised by students, the session was interactive as the students were keen to ask and know about the current trends in industries. Overall students has learned from the experience of the alumni member mr. Parekh which will help them for their bright future.

A Workshop on Mind Power by Dr. Jitendra Adhia on 23rd February, 2015

SRIMCA hosted a one day life changing workshop on "MIND POWER" by Dr. Jitendra Adhia on 23rd February, 2015 whereby students of MCA 4th semester has attended the same. Dr. Jitendra Adhia worked in different parts of world as a medical doctor and then shifted to Mind Training field. This workshop was aimed to ensure that you realize the vast potential of your mind and start utilizing it more by adopting certain basic fundamental techniques in your daily life. The workshop comprises basically of two parts: A theoretical portion, where the subject is discussed in depth with the help of audio visual aids followed by practical session, wherein each participant is taken down to the Alpha State of consciousness. Following topics were covered by Dr. Adhia during workshop:

    • Philosophy of mind is the branch of philosophy that studies the nature of the mind, mental events, mental functions, mental properties, consciousness and their relationship to the physical body.

When we repeat a skill that we are trying to master, we strengthen the neural networks that represent that action. The same happens physically in the brain whether we perform the action, or simply visualize it's Your brain cannot tell the difference between an action you performed and an action you visualized.
  • Concentration Technique
    • The practice of concentration enables us to accelerate our growth and learning because it provides us with direct access to knowing and understanding. Developing concentration is similar to developing physical strength with patient, persistent practice the following techniques will increase the strength and duration of your attention.

    • The law of attraction is the name given to the term that "like attracts like" and that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts, one can bring about positive or negative results

SRIMCA has hosted an inter collage event "Gyaney - 2015" on 3rd February, 2015 whereby 200+ students from various collages such as T&MT college of Information Science, Smt. Z. S. Patel college of Management and Technology, Shree Madhav institute of Computer and IT, Deviba institute of Computer Application and Marwadi College and many other colleges has participated in different competitions. During the inaugural function dignitaries from the University has motivated participants for the event. The Director sir and Coordinator of the event has energized everyone with best wishes for the event . There were six competitions namely:

  • "Sawal Jawab" the Quiz competition,
  • "Bol Baka Bol" the Elocution competition,
  • "ChinhaKari the Logo" Making competition,
  • "PunhaVichar" the Code Arrangement competition,
  • "Khoj Ke Bolo" the Web Hunting competitions,
  • "Vigyapan" the Ad Making competition.

There were two more fun game "Jodi Kamal Ki" and "Dhundho to Jane" has arranged for those participants who got eliminated from the competitions which has really made them engage in event with enthusiastic mood. Finally the energetic day has ended up with the valedictory function, all the winners of the respective competitions were awarded by the certificate and trophy and all participants were also appreciated with the participation certificate.

Experience sharing session by Alumni member on 7th Feb, 2015

The Alumni Association of SRIMCA organized an experience sharing session by an alumni member Mr.Ankur Patel,ProStartMe Pvt.Ltd, Surat on 7th February, 2015. He is an alumnusof 2008 batch. He has 3+ years of industrial experience. He is currently working as an iOS developer and is developing projects on iOS.While communicating with students, he started sessionwith a brief introduction of his workplaceProStartMe Pvt. Ltd. As he is working as an iOS developer, he emphasized the basics of iOS technology, its growth and applications.He also included the requirement of iOS developers in market.He highlightedimportance of discipline and hard work which plays a vital role everywhere. He also emphasized on time management, personality development, team work etc. He included the overall features incorporated as standards in work process of any company.He explained about processes carried at industry for deciding project requirements and development. He focused on the current scenario in the companies regarding the jobs and the company's expectations from their employees. More than 50 students of MCA(4th semester, Division B) attended the session.

SRIMCA, Celebrated Republic Day by Organizing Competition on Patriotism Theme on 24th January, 2015

The occasion is organized to enjoy and celebrate the national festival which highlights the spirit of patriotism among the students as well as enhance the innovative and creative mind of students. The celebration creates the feelings of responsibility towards the family, society and country. The celebration consisted of competition for events like Mehndi, Nail Art, Rangoli, Painting, Spot photography, Mono-acting and classroom decoration for all the students.

After successful completion of events, several students were declared as winners for various competitions namely Shivani Shah from SYMCA, Div-B for Mehndi, Tapashya Patil from SYBCA, Div-B for Nail Art, Himal Mistry from SYMCA, Div-A for Painting, Nisha Patel, Priyanka Patel, Nisha Modi from SYMCA, Div-D for Rangoli, Pratil Naik from SYMCA, Div-D for Spot photography, Divyesh Jani from TYBCA for Mono-acting, and last but not the least SYMCA, Div-A for excellent class-room decoration based on theme assigned i.e. Indian state Himachal Pradesh.

Republic day celebration was announced under the faculty coordinator Ms.Bhumika Desai. Mr. Jitendra Upadhyay helped to make this event successful. The event was a huge success for all of us, and it was not possible without the cooperation of each and every faculty member as well as students of SRIMCA.

Winners of "ICT for Make in India" at Ahmedabad University

It is a moment of pride that our three students Kishan Rakholiya, Manish Kahodariya, and Vimal Sheladiya from SYMCA has participated in "Quizter" quiz competition held at Ahmedabad University and awarded 1st prize in the event. Faculty of Computer Science and Technology congratulates them for their achievement.

Technical talk by SRIMCA staff members to vocational students

SRIMCA staff members were invited to provide knowledge of programming to computer vocational students (11th and 12 standard) at Shri P.K. Patel and Shree Ganesh Vidyalaya, Haldharu, Surat. Ms. Priti Prajapati and Ms. Jikitsha Sheth, both Assistant Professors at SRIMCA conducted technical talk on "C and C++ programming", wherein students were given insight on not just "how to" but also "why" aspects of programming. The session was an interactive one, where queries from students on technical as well as application of knowledge were raised and were answered satisfactorily by the speakers. Questions from the students related to career building were also addressed and the session ended with feedback and experience sharing with school staff and students. More than 40 students had attended the talk.

Seminar on Open Source Web Application Development Framework CodeIgniter

SRIMCA has hosted "Seminar on Open Source Web Application Development Framework CodeIgniter" from 6th to 9th January,2015. This seminar is being organized to enlighten web application development framework which is open source framework built in PHP. 1000+ BCA Students from various colleges across south Gujarat region have participated in the seminar.

Maximum number of students from College of Applied Science & Professional Studies-Chikhli, smt. Tanuben & Dr. Manubhai Trivedi College of Information Science-Surat, Shri Madhav Institute of Computer & IT-Pandesara(Surat) has participated. The seminar was divided into three themes such as CodeIgniter session, Motivational Session and at the end of the day Career Guidance session.

The CodeIgniter session was conducted by Ms Himadri Patel, she has explained basics of CodeIgniter which is based on popular Model-View-Controller development pattern. She has explained importance of rapid and dynamic web application development using PHP. She has covered the work flow for the web application since creation to deploying a website. The motivational session by Mr. Nilay Vaidya was aimed to make student to realize the importance of higher educational needs for being proactive. At the end of the day a Career Guidance session was conducted Ms. Jaishri Tailor, and she has discussed about the importance of Post Graduation, extra skills and certifications as well as career options after UG and PG.

Department of Management, Uka Tarsadia University, organized a Faculty Research Seminar on 27.12.2014. As part of it, Ms. Trishna Makwana presented her research proposal on,A Study on Female Buying Behavior and Consumption Patterns for Cosmetic Products in the District of Surat, Navsari and Valsad, Gujarat State, India, The presentation included the detailed introduction of the topic, about the concept she has selected, research methodology, literature review, scope and implications of the study. All faculty members of the department raised queries regarding the topic which were resolved by the speaker. The faculty members also gave their suggestions at the end of her presentation to make the study more worthy.

3rd Faculty Research Seminar By Mr. Sanjay Joshi on 29th November, 2014

The 3rd Faculty Research Seminar at Department of Management was held on 29th November, 2014. All faculty members were present in the seminar. Mr. Sanjay Joshi, Faculty member of the department presented his research work on "Integration of Selected World Stock Market: Evidence from Co-integration analysis". The major points discussed in the seminar are as follows:

  • The importance of globalization and liberalization in international stock market and how a domestic investor can gain potential benefits from international portfolio diversification.
  • Portfolio diversification opportunity for developed and developing countries like Brazil, Russia, India, China, US, UK and Japan.
  • Monthly closing prices were employed from 1st January, 2008 to 31st June, 2014 and sourced from yahoo finance website.
  • Stock market linkages were examined through Johansen Co-integration test and further tested for VECM when 2 Co-integrating equation found from Trace and Max-Eigen statistics.
  • The study concluded that a long term relationship among developed and developing countries, stock markets exists. So the presence of an equilibrium relationship does limit the potential benefits from portfolio diversification of international investors aiming to share their investment among India and other stock markets under study.

Faculty members present expressed their queries and gave fruitful suggestions regarding sample periods, methodology and presented output.

Expert talk on "NSE overviews and Skill Development Initiatives" organized by Department of Management on 20th November, 2014.

Resource Person: Mr. Sahil Shah, Assistant Manager, National Stock Exchange of India.

NSE is the second largest exchange in the world in terms of its trade volume and offers wide range of products in the financial market. To promote financial awareness to the larger population of India, NSE offers wide range of certificate courses at nominal costs.

In order to orient the students of MBA with the available certificate courses which add value on their C.V. along with MBA degree, Department of Management organized an expert talk on NSE overviews and skill development initiatives. The guest speaker Mr. Sahil Shah gave overviews of NSE and informed the students about the different certificate exams in the coming months which will help them to get better jobs.

Department of Management, UTU hosted Seminar on Building, Bridging and Bringing Business Solutions for Artisans on 12th November, 2014

The handicraft and artistic product businesses of Gujarat state need Financial Assistance for their raw material procurement and business development. This seminar was aimed to orient artisans about various schemes availed by Government for their business development. With view to market about various schemes, 350+ artisans from Tapi, Navsari and Surat District were invited for seminar on Building, bridging and business solution. The artisans also kept exhibitions to display various handmade products, which were really eye-catching for everybody.

The seminar was pioneered by Mr. Dharmesh Parmar, Deputy Commissioner of Industries and General Manager, District Industries center, Surat/Tapi, and Mr. A.C Chaudhari, General Manager, District Industries center Navsari. In the inaugural ceremony, Dr. D.R. Shah, Provost of UTU welcomed the participants and briefed them about Uka Tarsadia University.

The Seminar was also helpful for students of Department of Management where they had presented their views on the different topics related to entrepreneurship in front of the panel. Their ideas were highly appreciated by all.

Department of Management organized an expert session on "Analysis of Balance Sheet" for MBA students - 10th Nov, 2014

Department of Management organised an expert session on "Analysis of Balance Sheet" for FYMBA students by Mr. Robin Bansal (Chartered Accountant) on 10th November 2014. Mr. Bansal talked on Accounting principles, its requirement and 32 Accounting standards. He also discussed vertical & horizontal format of Balance sheets, analysed Balance sheet by rectifying entries of Trial balance, Profit & Loss account and debit-credit entries. He had also shared his personal experience of Account Auditing and visit to clients' place.

With the objective to enhance the intellectual atmosphere of the department, facilitate knowledge sharing and intergroup interactionsof Interdisciplinary fields, Department of Management, SRIMCA had conducted a Faculty Researchseminar on 17th October 2014.

In the seminar, Dr. SushilChaurasia has presented his work on thetopic of "Manufacturers Perspective of Retailers Power and itsBehavioral Consequences on Retailer-Manufacturer Outsourcing Relationship".The research work aims to develop and test a conceptualmodel using power sources and behavioral constructs in a typicalretailer-manufacturer apparel outsourcing relationship". In his presentation, he has highlighted how to proceed with literaturereview, develop conceptual model and testing techniques he has used tovalidate the model.The presentation was followed by fruitful discussion among faculty members.

A Seminar on "Faculty Research"organized by Department of Management, Date: 29th September 2014

Resource Person: Dr. Jitesh Parmar, Assistant Professor, SRIMCA

Research is a fundamental part of scholarly activities in any research university. SRIMCA's first Faculty Research Seminars(FRS) was conducted on these lines, aiming to develop an invaluable model for scholarly development. By bringing Faculty intellectually closer and providing a formal structure for their interaction, the FRS aims to enhance the Individual research goals of each participant along with alignment of Institutional research goal.

In the seminar, Dr. Jitesh Parmar has presented his work on the topic of "Beliefs, Attitude and Behavior of College Students towards Internet Advertising with reference to South Gujarat area". In his presentation, he has highlighted how to proceeds with literature review, various tools and techniques he has used, models he studied and applied, findings, limitation etc. This type of Initiative taken by department helps research scholars to proceeds in their own research work.

The presentation was followed by fruitful discussion among faculty members.

A Workshop on "Personal Effectiveness" organized by Department of Management, Date: 27th September 2014

Resource Person: Mr. Ojas Bhatt

Department of Management organized workshop on Personal Effectiveness for FYMBA students. Mr. Ojas Bhatt, who is professional trainer and consultant, was the resource person for the workshop. He started his session with the very basic but effective skills require being a manager. During his workshop, he segregated entire audience in a group of 10, and within those groups he assigns various tasks which require intergroup and Intra-group communication. During this workshop, he highlighted different concepts of teamwork, group behavior, Personal efficiency and effectiveness and so on with various practical activities which he assigns to be performed by students in groups.

Department of Management, SRIMCA declared as Winner of Best Participation Award and Money Matrix Game at State Level Management Event "Protsahan" organized by Ganpat University during 26th and 27th September 2014

57 Students of Department of Management (SRIMCA) MBA and Integrated MBA had actively participated in management event at Ganpat University, Ahmadabad and won best participation award and Mr. Bhumin Patel student of SYMBA secured 1st Prize in Money Matrix Game where more than 120 participants of more than 45 institutes across Gujarat had taken part in various management events.

Wheebox conducted WEST-Wheebox Employability Skills Test for all the Final Year students of M.C.A, M.Sc. (CA), B.C.A & M.Sc. (IT) to publish "India Skills Report" in association with PeopleStrong and CII. The competition was arranged by the training and placement cell of Faculty of Computer Science & Technology, UTU. The advantage of WEST is that the score card can be used for multiple job opportunities and the score card is validated by the Government bodies of country. Overall 400+ students from Faculty of Computer Science & Technology participated in the Wheebox competition.

Campus interview organized at SRIMCA by BosLeo, Valsad, Date: 22nd September 2014

BosLeo is a creative technology company. They create value for their client by developing new products and services using imagination, creativity, and technology. They mainly focus on finance, healthcare, education, and entertainment industries. On 22nd Sept 2014, it arrived for the campus placement of MCA and M.Sc. (CA) year students. After Pre-placement talk, 100 students appeared for first round which included MCQ based on the core concepts of logical reasoning, programming and analytical skills. After scrutiny of first round 20 students were selected for final interview. It is a moment of immense pleasure to announce that among them three students of T.Y M.C.A namely Mr. Shravan Sadanand Dasari, Mr. Moinkhan Mazidkhan Pathan and Mr. Yagnesh Maheshbhai Dobariya have been selected and they offered stipend of Rs. 5,000 and minimum salary of 1.44 CTC.

Campus interview organized at SRIMCA by MICM Net Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, Date: 20th September 2014

On 20th Sept 2014, it arrived for the campus placement of MCA and M.Sc. (CA) year students. After Pre-placement talk, 152 students appeared for first round which included MCQ based on the core concepts of logical reasoning, programming, aptitude and analytical skills. After scrutiny of first round 32 students were selected and they appeared for practical test in which any one language they can prefer from Java, asp.net or vb.net. Among them 7 students were selected for final HR interview which was held on the same day and finally five students of T.Y M.C.A namely Akhil Pillai, Ashok Mistry, Javed Kalaniya, Nikunj Sardhara and Priyanka Patel. They have been offered stipend of Rs. 7,500 and minimum salary of 2.16 CTC.

An incredible contribution of Gujarati Language feature in Notepad++ by SRIMCA student, Date: 20th September 2014

A remarkable contribution of our student from T.Y M.C.A Mr. Milind Audichya (201304100120080) had created a new feature of Gujarati language in Notepad++. Notepad++ (from v2.3) an open source text editor supports the Multilanguage functionality by means of a translated xml file (from english.xml). He provided a binary conversation for the translation of the Notepad++ to make it usable in the GUJARATI Language. For the same he did the conversion of the existing English.xml to Gujarati.xml using the Encoding in "UTF-8 without BOM". Using this feature the people who understand Gujarati can make use of the same in a better way, so this is helpful for the Gujarati community all over the world. His remarkable contribution of Binary Translations for "Gujarati" Language Compatibility for Notepad++ has been included in the version Notepad++ 6.6.9 released on 7th September 2014, as it is accepted by the Notepad++ Organization.

The contribution of student is amazing accumulating the emphasize of open source in the curriculum of the institute. The institute also motivates the students to contribute to the society, encourage the masses of people to make utmost use of open source tools as it also provides a wide and better range of features compared to their competitive markets.

Campus interview organized at SRIMCA by Trimantra Software Solutions, Surat, Date: 18th September 2014

Trimantra Software Solution is an IT consultancy that develops customized business software applications using top notch technologies. They are skilled in developing custom web applications software based on Facebook, Twitter, Google as well as custom enterprise application development and related IT outsourcing services. On 18th Sept 2014, it arrived for the campus placement of MCA, M.Sc. (CA) and B. Tech final year students. After Pre-placement talk, nearly 145 students appeared for technical round which included development of solution for the given business requirements. Among them 52 students developed the solution using ASP .NET technology while rest used PHP for the same. After scrutiny of first round, the company has selected 44 students from MCA and M.Sc. (CA) programme for the psychometric test followed by interview which be scheduled within couple of days.

Students of Faculty of Computer Science & Technology participated in the events of 'Anantyam' 2014 with full of fun and enthusiasm. Anantyam is the annual engineer's day festival of CGPIT, UTU which has gained widespread popularity among the masses of UTU in just 1 year. True to its name-'Anant' meaning unlimited and 'yam' meaning 'happiness'-Anantyam aims to provide a festive time, not just for the fun-loving Gujju Engineers, but the whole of UTU. Different events for our IT students were Web Weaver and C-Phobic in which our students from M.C.A, M.Sc. (CA), B.C.A and M.Sc. (IT) have participated. Overall 50+ students in Web Weaver and 50+ students in C Phobic were indulged; on the whole it was a good experience where our students can explore.

It is a moment of immense pleasure that our students of T.Y M.C.A namely Mr. Nikunj Sardhara (Div D) and Mr. Shailesh Prajapati (Div C) secured 1st rank in Web Weaver event.

    The first session was intended to provide knowledge to MBA Finance students on the technical analysis. He explained the importance of technical analysis in identifying trends and making suitable investment decisions. He elucidated Dow Theory and discussed role of various tools like charts & indicators to understand market movement. The session was more fascinating with real time data.

    The second session was shed light on principles of successful trading through the game. Through the paper based trading game, he highlighted importance of Contract size, capital investment, protection of Investment, and right decision in stock market. At last he practically explain how to create stochastic oscillators using excel with real time data. At last, Participation certificate were given to all participants.

  • Department of Management Celebrated "Teachers' Day", Date: 4th September 2014, 09:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. more

    We celebrate Teachers' day every year throughout the country on 5th September. Students express their gratitude and appreciation for their teachers on this day. This day is dedicated to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan - second President of India. The great academic philosopher, and one of the most well known diplomat, scholar, president of India and above all a teacher. As a tribute to this great teacher, his birthday has been observed as teachers' day.

    A celebration also conducted by Departments of Management in its own way. The whole function was planned by students with faculty coordinators. We decided that, the responsibility of teaching is taken up by the students as an appreciation for their teachers.

    Students took lectures from 9:30 a.m to 2:00 p.m for all the Semesters of both MBA and IMBA. All the students in role of teachers went to their respective class to deliver lectures on the ongoing semester subjects. On this day, our teaching was started as usual on 9:30 a.m.

    Lectures conducted by the students were arranged in form of competition. So, all the respective faculty members were in the classroom as judge for the teaching of the students. All other non participated students were also studying seriously.

    In second half, function was arranged by students for the teachers. The function involves some activities for entertainment, cake cutting and announcement and awarding the best student faculties with certificates and prizes.

    The winner of the best student teachers are SYMBA Kanti Purohit, FYMBA Monica Makadia, IMBA Sem. I Anjali Marathe, Sem. III Shivani Vansiya, Sem. V Arjun Pandey.

    Department of Management had organized a Seminar on "Entrepreneurship" for students of 2nd year MBA & 3rd year integrated MBA on 3rd September, 2014at SRIMCA, UTU. Eminent speaker for Seminar was Mr.Dharmesh Parmar who is Deputy Commissioner of DIC at Tapi & Surat District.He gave a detailed knowledge to the students on Entrepreneurship, who is an entrepreneur, how to become entrepreneur, what are the different schemes government provide to the entrepreneur's, different government benefits given to the women entrepreneur's, & he also shared knowledge about the development of small scale & medium scale industry of Tapi & Surat district. The session was very interactive & knowledgeable.

Sir had started with thoughts on management from well-known personalities of the worldand how we can adopt their thought. He also focused on:Developing Learning Attitude, The utilization of resources at university/ college and How to use approximately 700 days so that students can become competitive, read more and more from books and Internet apart from Syllabus contents.     Department of Management SRIMCA has organized one day workshop on "Management in Practice" for first year MBA and first year Integrated MBA students. Mr.Amit Mehta, CEO of Markziconducted workshopcovering various managerial concepts, like Communication, team work with several activities and informational videoes. Mr.Mehta also gave practical knowledge about teamwork management through games. Students have participated and enjoyed this whole workshop in full enthusiasm and learnt how to work in a team. He also talked about confidence building, creativity and imparting positivity. He nicely solved queries raised by students.

  • Department of Management, SRIMCA Organized Industrial Visit to MundraPort, Date: 26th - 27th August 2014 more

    In order to give Industrial exposure, Department Of Management have organized an industrial visit to Mundra port for the students of 2nd year MBA & Integrated MBA Sem.III students for 2 days, 26 and 27th of August, 2014. 76 students along with 4 Faculty members have visited the place. On the 1st day students visited shipping yard of Adani port, AdaniWilmar ltd ( Edible oil refinery), at the end of the day students visited the temple & cultural program was organized by the students. On the 2nd day, students visited the power plant of Adani. The visit was also enriched with the session of Shri. Chandrakant Pandya Sir about Living Life Comfortably with yoga, laughing and improving few habits for happy life. The whole trip was enjoyable and involved lots of practical learning.

    An Expert Session on "Big Data" was organized by SRIMCA, UTU. Mr. Jai Prakash Verma, Assistant Professor (Computer Science & Engineering Department) from Institute of Technology, Nirma University (Ahmedabad) was the speaker for the session and he is pursuing his Ph.D from Changa University. Overall 240+ students of final year of M.C.A and M.Sc. (CA) attended the session. During the session he made the students aware of the scope of Big Data, benefits of Big Data for the Enterprise, he also demonstrated features of Hadoop framework with live demonstration. The session concluded with its market values and future aspects.

    An industrial visit was organized by Department of Management, SRIMCA for the students of SYMBA HRM specialization at Bardoli Sugar Factory. Mr. Sharad Patel initiated a meeting at Bardoli Sugar Factory with the agenda covering; Efficiency of Factory & Employee, Recovery Process, Social Responsibility of Bardoli Sugar Factory, Research and Development of Factory for Sugarcane development and disease, Process of Selling Sugar, Purchase of Machinery and Equipment, Man power Planning for seasonal cutting sugarcane from farm, Cooperative Sugar Factory vs. Private Sugar Factory, Sugar Factory Federation. Mr. Pankaj Patel the managing director of the organization enlightened the students and made them aware regarding the real world scenario associated with such cooperative organization.

    The celebration of Janmashtami is done to celebrate the birth of lord Krishna; this is done in a traditional way by breaking a mud pot fully filled with curd.

    The department of management celebrated the Janmastami festival on 18 Aug 2014. The traditional way was followed and the "MATKI FOD" was organized by the combine efforts of faculty members and students.

    All students from Department of management took part in Janmashtami festival and enjoyed the charm of festival.

    Expert talk on 'Significance of SharePoint in Industry' was organized by SRIMCA, UTU for the students of final year of M.C.A. Mr. Harsh Pandit, an experienced person in .NET Technology was the speaker, he is Microsoft Certified as a Professional Developer, Technical Specialist in .NET 2.0 Web Applications and Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. He gave a glimpse on introduction to SharePoint, its architecture, market trends including future aspects, how user requirements can be related with the SharePoint features and demonstration of applications with the help of case study. 225+ students have attended it. Apart from the expert talk he had also spent his precious time of more than an hour's for solving query of the students regarding how to get project for their final semester, which platform they should choose, what is the need and expectations of the companies to get better job and many more.

    Faculty of Computer Science & Technology, UTU has celebrated Janmashtami on 18th August, 2014. Janmashtami also known as 'Krishnastami' is the birthday of Lord Krishna, the eight avatar (incarnation) of Lord Vishnu. It is a very important Hindu festival celebrated in India with clat and great enthusiasm. Dahi handi or Mosaru Kudike is also an integral part of Janmashtami celebrations. It marks the mischievous and playful behaviour of Lord Krishna. Students of SRIMCA, B. V. Patel Institute of BMC&IT and Department of Computer Science and Technology, UTU were more excited to break "DAHI HANDI". All classes have participated in DAHI HANDI with taste of DJ. The Janmashtami celebration was really an awesome experience for the students which gave them positive vibration.

    The Department of Management celebrated a cultural program on 14thAugust 2014.The program was based on patriotism theme.

    There was a celebration in the air of SRIMCA and everyone took pride to be an Indian. Almost 30 students took part in the competition. All participants performed very enthusiastically and they gave their best to win the competition.

    The program started at 1:30 p.m. & it was concluded at 3:30 p.m. During this two hours, competition were held in three different categories as:

    In his talk, He has also shown differences in growth pattern of Indian economic system with world economy. During his talk he also solved queries raised by participants. Participants really find seminar very interesting and informative.

  • A Session on "Use of Technology in Career Opportunities" was organized by SRIMCA, UTU, Date: 13th August 2014 more

    Session on "Use of Technology in Career Opportunities" was organized by SRIMCA for final year students of M.C.A and M.Sc. (CA). 240+ students attended the session. The talk was delivered by Mr. Mulchand Sen, Assistant Professor, SRIMCA (Department of Management) and Coordinator, Training and Placement cell, Uka Tarsadia University. Mr. Mulchand talk started with a small assignment to each student; he asked each student to mention his/her interest area and the top companies in that area. He bestowed a meticulous explanation about various technology options like computers, mobiles, social media, newspapers etc. available in recent times for searching career options. He informed the students about free and paid websites providing information about jobs particularly to freshers. He motivated the students to undergo project training in industries and participating in large numbers in campus interviews. He also counseled the students to be proactive, self-sufficient and continuously upgrade themselves to cope with cut-throat competition and dynamic business environment and make them aware of the importance of effective communication skills along with knowledge. Overall the session was very fascinating, informative and effective.

  • "Orientation Program 2014" organized by Faculty of Computer Science and Technology, Date: 1st August 2014 more

    Faculty of Computer Science and Technology organized Orientation Program 2014 for the upcoming batch of M.C.A, M.C.A (Lateral) and M.Sc. (CA).

    The "Orientation Program 2014" was arranged for two days i.e. on 31st July, 2014 and 1st August, 2014. On first day, students had a campus visit which included a walk through the library and they were also made aware of rules and regulations that have to be followed by them during their journey of studies with FCST. Mr. Kamlesh Thakkar gave a motivational talk on "Memory Development" and "Attitude towards life" he also demonstrated memory management techniques and gave a crouch on how child should behave with parents and vice-a-versa.

    The event was concluded by wishing good luck to all the new budding computer science professionals. Mr. Sandip Delwadkar Assistant Professor, SRIMCA was the coordinator for the "Orientation Program 2014".

    SRIMCA organized session on "Programming Skills Improvement and Object Oriented Concepts used in Java" from 24th July 2014 to 26th July 2014 for students who have just graduated in Computer Science background. Several students from different colleges attended the session and gain knowledge on core concepts of programming language and Object Oriented paradigm. The session focus on fundamental concepts of programming like algorithm, flowchart, control structure etc. for enhancing skill in programming. Further the session includes the basics of Java program, selection, and iteration, jump statements as well as exception handling approach used by Java. Next, the session proceeded with Object Oriented concepts like class, object, inheritance and their usage in Java program.

    An expert session on "C Programming for Embedded Microcontroller Systems" was organized by SRIMCA, UTU. Mr. Ketan Patel form US, senior software at QuickLogic was the speaker for the session. QuickLogic is the inventor and pioneer of innovative, customizable semiconductor solutions for mobile and portable electronics OEMs and ODMs. Overall 84 students of Under Graduates and Post Graduates of different programs having competency in C and willing to build career in embedded system were incorporated in the session. During the session he had emphasized on program organization and microcontroller memory, data types, constants, microcontroller register/port address, operators, control structures, functions and interrupt routines.

    Mathematics during the Vedic period in ancient India is known as Vedic Mathematics. With an advancement in technology, people depends totally on it for any mathematical calculations. Vedic Mathematical techniques focuses on mental exercise.

    Mr. Arvind Varshney, with profession Electrical engineer, delivered talked on Vedic Mathematics to our Int. MBA Sem. I, III and MBA Sem. III Students. 165 Students along with Faculty members have participated in this session.

    During his session, he taught various simple but powerful techniques of solving mathematical problems. He taught how one can use the knowledge of Vedic Mathematics in solving toughest calculation without use of calculator or computer. The faculty members and students were enriched with the techniques taught during the session.

    National Level Secure Programming Competition CODE UNCODE 2014 is organized by EC Council Foundation and will be conducted at SRIMCA. Code Uncode is an initiative by EC Council Foundation, the not for profit arm of EC Council, the world's largest certification body for Information Security professionals, to search for the top secure programmers in India. Code Uncode 2014 is a milestone for continuous efforts to build an army of successful programmers and thereafter a strong team of IT security professionals. Overall 483 students have registered for the competition among which students of MCA, BCA, M.Sc. (CA), and 5 years Integrated MCA are incorporated from Faculty of Computer Science & Technology, UTU. The event will be conducted in 3 parts Preliminary, Semi Finals and Finals, leading to identifying the most talented programmers in India. Preliminary round is scheduled on 28th July, 2014. We would also look forward that more number of such events occur, so that our students can grab these opportunities and get explore to the outer world.

QuickLogic is the inventor and pioneer of innovative, customizable semiconductor solutions for mobile and portable electronics OEMs and ODMs. Overall 400+ students of M.C.A, M.Sc. (IT) and M.Sc. (CA) attended the session. During the session he communal his 15 years of work experience with the students, embarked light on the recent trends of embedded system. On the top of it, he also made the students aware of IT demand all over the globe.

    Faculty of Computer Science & Technology organized Orientation Program 2014 for the upcoming batch of 5 years Integrated MCA, 5 Years Integrated M.Sc. (IT) and BCA. Mr. R. M. Chauhan Executive Magistrate, Mahuva gave his venerated presence as an honorable chief guest for the event. Mr. R. M. Chauhan gave a squat talk to motivate the youth and inaugurated the formal function. Various dignitaries were present namely Dr. D. R. Shah Provost of Uka Tarsadia University shared words of wisdom and welcomed the new batch of computer science students. Dr. N. C. Shah Director of CGPIT, Dr. Prashant Joshi Professor and Head of Department of Management gave their esteemed presence and welcomed the youth by sharing their experiences.

    The "Orientation Program 2014" was arranged for three days i.e. from 14th July, 2014 to 16th July 2014. During these days, students had a campus visit, played different types of games, they were also made aware of rules and regulations that has to be followed during their journey of studies with FCST. Moreover, expert talk was given by Mr. Himansh Thakkar on "Self Hypnosis and Laughter Meditation" he demonstrated how to measure energy, power of subconscious mind. Mr. Kamlesh Thakkar gave a motivational talk on "Memory Development" and "Attitude towards life" he also demonstrated memory management techniques and gave a crouch on how child should behave with parents and vice-a-versa; this session was also attended by parents too. On the top of it parent's meeting was held with the program coordinators of different courses of computer science.

    The event was concluded by wishing good luck to all the new budding computer science professionals.
