Programme
The Orientation Programme was organized with the objective to assist the new students
of MBA in making a successful academic, intellectual and social transitioning in
to the SRIMCA environment. The facets of the orientation included knowing about
the Campus, Institute, senior students, rules and regulations, best practices and
learning pedagogy. They were also made familiar to amenities like the Canteen, Hostels,
Common Room, Computer Laboratory, Class Rooms and Language Lab.
Day 1 - Wednesday 24th August 2011
The formal Function
The day started with the prayer "Bahu punya kera punj thi...". The distinguished
guest was Miss. Bhawika Wanchoo, Chief Manager & Incharge, Ahmedabad, National Stock
Exchange of India. Mr. Jitesh Parmar - one of the In-charge of the Orientation Programme
enlisted the objectives and schedule of the Four days programme. Miss. Bhawika Wanchoo
asserted the youth about the present scope and opportunities available and challenges
to be faced in the Competitive Market. She also has inaugurated the new certificate
course, Namely NCCMP (NSE certified capital Market Professionals), which Faculty
of Management, SRIMCA has introduced in collaboration with National Stock Exchange
of India. Dr. Prashant Joshi, Dr. Shivendra Gupta and Dr. Jatin Desai have also
shared their experience and blessed the students for their bright career. Mr. Krunal
Patel - one of the In-charge of the Orientation Programme concluded the formal function
by extending vote of thanks.
Presentation on "About SRIMCA"
Faculty Incharge - Miss.Urvi Thakkar, Miss. Shahenaz Imam The programme
was followed with a presentation on "About SRIMCA" - detailing about the Institution
as a whole, its Managing Trust, Resource availability, Faculty profiles, Education
Enrichment Initiatives and Achievements of the Institute, the Faculties and the
Students. The presentation was collectively handled by Miss.Urvi Thakkar, Miss.
Shahenaz Imam.
Session on Gold ETF
Faculty Incharge - Miss.Swapna Nair
Miss. Bhawika Wanchoo, Chief Manager and Incharge, Ahmadabad, National Stock exchange
of India talked about the floatation of NSE in market, dematerialized trading, and
compared the progress of NSE against BSE. She discussed with the students on Equity
Traded Funds, the pros and cons of investing in ETFs. She throw light upon the advantages
of Gold ETFs and the disadvantages of investment in physical gold looking to the
current trend of investing in metals.
Parents Meet
Faculty Incharge - Mr.Mulchandji Sen
Faculty of Management organized "Parents Meet" on the first day of its 4 Days Orientation
Programme 2011. The basic objective of this meet is to interact with parents of
the new comers, to brief them about the institute and its activities, to solve queries
of parents related to their child's education at Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of
Management & Computer Application. It was highly interactive session whereby parents
raised their questions and faculty team solved their queries. Parents Feedback was
taken at the end of the session which was rated satisfactorily.
Campus Visit
Faculty Incharge - Mr.Sanjay Joshi
Campus visit was organized to make new students familiar with the campus environment.
During the visit Senior students accompanied the new students and their Parents
and made them aware of locations and routes. After the visit, new students had many
common questions of where to find what - answered. Be it the library, canteen, class
rooms, language lab or place to board a bus.
Day 2 - Thursday 25th August 2011
The second day of orientation was devoted to the activities focused on Interactions
and acquaintance with Senior students of MBA.
Treasure Hunt:
Faculty Incharge - Mr. Sanjay Joshi
The game starts with an objective to find out an ultimate treasure with some clues.
There 10 members participated in each group. All group members have to work in a
team. If group members are found working isolate by any volunteer, team shall be
disqualified. There are 2 rounds in this game: 1st elimination round, 2nd final
round. In 1st round team has to answer 15 MCQ (Each carry equal marks) and then
find out the spots (Each spot carry 5 marks) and also fill up the answer at each
spot. These spots are within SRIMCA campus. Further 6 teams will qualify to final
round. Teams have to find out clues outside the SRIMCA campus and within MALIBA
campus. They need to perform the task that is specified on respective spots. Each
team has to ensure the signature of our volunteers after completion of a task. Finally
team will have to submit the form to the final spot as per words you derived from
all spots. The ultimate word framed was B LIVE IN GOD.
Session on How to Master Business Presentation
Faculty Incharge - Mr. Gautam Donga, Miss.Urvi Thakkar, Miss. Khushbu
Shah
The Session on "How to Master Business Presentation" was conducted by Miss Khushbu
Shah, Mr.Gautam Donga and Miss Urvi Thakkar for the students of FYMBA. Topics covered
in this session were some basic functions of MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power point.
The main objective of this session was to impart knowledge to the fresher's to manage
the work office effectively in the business filed by working on Ms Office.
Senior-juniors Interactions
Faculty Incharge -Miss. Swapna Nair, Miss: Trishna Makwana
Interactive session for juniors with seniors were arranged where in all first year
students interacted with senior students playing various games with their senior
students. They introduced themselves to crowd at large by performing various activities.
Juniors played one minute games with their seniors and also gave dramatic performances
and to add up one of the senior student sang a song to motivate and warm heartedly
welcomed the juniors. There was fun, mischief, performances and above all enjoyment
for the whole evening.
Day 3 - Friday 26th August 2011
Session on Professional Etiquette
Faculty Incharge -Miss. Tarjani Desai
Faculty of Management (SRIMCA) has organized talk on "Professional Etiquette" on
occasion of orientation for 1st sem. Students. Mr. J.K.Nair has delivered lecture
on "Professional Etiquette". In his session he has covered topics like Responsibility
in corporate, Commitment, Motivation, What is the importance of Listening in professional
life. What is wining? He has given ample real world examples also.
Session on Management Lessons from "3 Idiots"
Faculty Incharge - Mr. Mulchandji Sen
Faculty of Management organized "Movie Based Learning" whereby Mulchandji Sen -
Faculty of Management, has put light on learning for Life. One can learn from anything.
How to develop Learning attitude? Then session focused on Management lessons from
most admired movie "3 Idiots". In his 2 hour session he has explained various management
lessons which are functional to be implemented in student as well as corporate life.
It was interactive session whereby fresher of MBA have shared various learning points
creating more value for all.
Managment Games
Faculty Incharge - Miss. Khushbu Shah
The objective of this management game was to impart practical knowledge and enhance
the real life learning among management students and also put light on the management
concepts like time management, group coordination, planning, organizing, leadership
and motivation. All the students enthusiastically participated in these games.
Day 4 - Saturday 27th August 2011
Alumni Meet
Faculty Incharge -Mr. Manish Pathak, Miss. Shahenaz Imam
The Faculty of Management organizes Alumni Meet on 27th Aug, 2011 .The purpose of
this Alumni - Students Forum Meeting is to share their Professional Experience,
Valuable Views and Success Stories to the present and fresher students. Through
this Meet, We can elevate the knowledge of students about their career options.
In this meet, our alumni members Mr. Darshan Shah and Mr. Rohan Desai have share
their experiences, Give Guidance to them and also solve the queries of students.
Apart from this, All Alumni members have encourage the fresher to participate in
management Competition, How and What to do for the self-development and also give
suggestions to students about examinations, projects and placement.
Session on "Ominous gap between education and employability"
Faculty Incharge - Miss. Tarjani desai
Faculty of Management (SRIMCA) has organized talk on "Ominous gap between education
and employability" on occasion of orientation of 1st sem. Students. Mr. Umesh Sharma
has delivered lecture on "Ominous gap between education and employability", who
is Senior Vice President- Human Resources at Micro Inks Limited. His qualification
is G.H.R.M., Global Human Resources Management. In his session he guided the students
to develop the difference skill sets, which is required in industry and he covered
the gap that presently exists in education and industry.
The Snakes Show
Faculty Incharge -Mr. Sanjay Joshi
With the objective of environmental awareness and preservation the Team Prayas,
Surat was invited to the institute. Prayaas is an NGO working with the mission to
save the environment and to create awareness among the local people. The team appealed
the students to actively participate in saving them, in saving the nature. He also
provided vital information on types of snakes seen in local area, different techniques
to deal with snake bites and remedial measures.
Session on Stress Management through rhythmic breathing
Faculty Incharge - Miss. Tarjani Desai
Faculty of Management (SRIMCA) has organized talk on "Stress Management through
rhythmic breathing" on occasion of orientation of 1st sem. Students. Dr. Krupesh
A Chauhan has delivered lecture on "Stress Management through rhythmic breathing",
who is Associate Professor (Urban Planning) Civil Engineering Department, SV National
Institute of Technology Surat. In his session he had taught the breathing techniques,
which is useful for reducing stress.
Session on Team Management through laughing exercise
Faculty Incharge - Mr. Gautam Donga
Dr. Krupesh Chauhan (Associate Professor in Urban Planning at SVNIT) has taken a
session on "Team Management through laughing exercise". In his session he explains
how we can reduce stress through laughing exercise. The audience has enjoyed the
session a lot.
