General Rules of Gyaney 2015

  1. A Student of ANY Graduate or Post Graduate Institute offering Computer Science and IT Course can Participate in this event.
  2. A Student can Participate in ANY ONE event from each session.
  3. Specific event rules would be announced at appropriate time before event.
  4. The Decision of the judges will be final and binding on all participant.
  5. Registration Fee is Rs. 120/- per participant.
  6. Last date of Registration is: January 24, 2015
SawalJawab(Quiz) BolBakaBol(Elocution) Chinhakari(Logo Making)

Quiz competition with an objective to stretch the knowledge of the participants on the following areas:

  1. General Knowledge
  2. Reasoning
  3. Basics of programming in C
  4. Recent trends in Mobile
  5. Operating System
  6. Database Management System
Team Size:2
  1. Elimination round would involve answering multiple-choice questions based on General Knowledge and Information Technology.
  2. Final round shall be based on buzzer round.
  3. There shall be a 30 minutes time span shall be given for elimination round and 30 minutes for final round.
  4. The questions shall be in any of the forms of multiple choice, audio, & image.
  5. The participants shall not be allowed to use mobile or other electronic gadgets or any other means of unethical nature.
  6. Specific rules for the event will be announced at appropriate time on the day of event.

Bol Baka Bol aimed to showcase the skill of public speaking and confidence building of a participant using below given topics:

  1. Save Girl child
  2. Digital India
  3. Market growth of Smartphone
  4. Whatsapp is killing minds!
  5. Can solar energy "save the world" in future?
  6. Should NRIs be allowed to vote?
  7. Growth of IT in India
Team Size:1
  1. For the elimination round, participant shall allow to speak for a 3 minutes on any one of the above mentioned topics.
  2. Semi-Final Round (Group Discussion) :
    1. Topic for the group discussion shall be given on the spot.
    2. Challenge one another, but do so respectfully.
    3. Argue with maximum valid points.
    4. Out of two participants, one will favor the topic and another will take stand against the topic.
    5. Participants must try to cover information, preferably from authentic sources.
  3. For the final round, participant shall poll the chit and 3 minutes will be given to think on the topic written on the chit and later speak for 5 minutes on it.
  4. The participant is expected to memorize their speech, and is not allowed to read any part of the speech from papers, notes, or cards.
  5. Participant shall speak in any of the English, Hindi, or Gujarati languages.
  6. Speech will be based on self-composed content.
  7. Vulgarity in speech will lead to immediate disqualification.

The event is aimed to provide a scenario and couple of images(i.e. Logo) from which participants can get inspiration and prepare a new logo by this they can showcase their creativity and innovative idea. Team Size:1

  1. There shall be only one round.
  2. Each participant shall have 75 minutes time span to think and prepare a logo.
  3. Logo must be prepared using AdobePhotoshop tool only.
  4. The participants shall not be allowed to use internet, mobile or other electronic gadgets or any other means of unethical nature.
  5. Specific rules for the event will be announced at appropriate time on the day of event.

  2. A list of items to be search shall be given as "search task".
  3. The team which reports earliest with maximum search items found shall be declared winner.

  3. Any of one language from English, Hindi, & Gujarati is allowed.
  4. Each team has to express/present given product in form of Acting/Song.
  5. Attempt must be made so that prepared advertisements do not violate/harm interests of any person/community.

  1. A team of two shall be created. One will act as a runner while other will be guide.
  2. A blind fold shall be tied on runner’s eyes and will be asked hold lemon & spoon by mouth.
  3. The guide will give guidance to the runners who reach from start position to end position.
  4. The team that reaches first with properly holds lemon & spoon shall be announced as winner.
  5. The decision of the event coordinator shall be final.
