Water: An essentials part of our health

Recently on 22nd March, WHO celebrated water day to make aware people about importance of water in our day to day life. Water is the key part of our life; we should drink at least 10-12 glasses of water every day. It is essentials part for us as it is good for overall health.

Water

The amount of water necessary for our body to function at its peak performance. As we know that our body has 75 percent of water so it is easy to understand that water in our body is most essential in daily ingredient. Our body looses each day about 2-3 liters of water through elimination, urination, perspiration and respiration. However, this may increase during illness, high performance, exercise, pregnancy and nursing. In normal conditions our body needs to replace the fluids it has lost throughout the day. Most of fluids should be replaced by drinking water.

The benefits of water are manifold:

Helps in Digestion and Constipation

Drinking water raises metabolism because it helps in digestion.

Lose weight

Drinking water helps to lose weight because it flushes down the by-products of fat breakdown. Drinking water reduces hunger; it’s an effective appetite suppressant so one eats less. Plus, water has zero calories

Look Younger with Healthier Skin

Water helps to replenish skin tissues, moisturizes skin and increase skin elasticity

Natural Remedy for Headache

Helps to relieve headache and back pains due to dehydration. Although there are many other reasons contribute to headache, dehydration is the common one.

Better Exercise:

Drinking water regulates body temperature. One can feel more energetic while doing exercises and water helps to fuel our muscle.

Less Likely to Get Sick and Feel Healthy

Drinking plenty of water helps fight against flu and other ailments like kidney stones and heart attack. Water added with lemon is used for ailments like respiratory disease, intestinal problems, rheumatism and arthritis etc. Another benefits of drinking water is, it can improve our immune system. It reduces build up of sodium in body. Some studies show that drinking healthy amount of water may reduce the risks of bladder cancer and colon cancer. Water dilutes the concentration of cancer-causing agents in the urine and shortens the time in which they are in contact with bladder lining.

Relieves Fatigue

Water is used by the body to help flush out toxins and waste products from the body. If our body lacks water, our heart, for instance, need to work harder to pump out the oxygenated blood to all cells.

Among other fluid nimbu pani should be preferred, even fresh lime soda (without sugar), butter milk, coconut water, vegetable juice, clear soups are also recommended for healthy body. We should start our meal with one of the above or just a glass of plain water.
